Re: Worst Calls In Sports History
First two thing that popped into my mind were the '85 World Series and the 5th down. Not that I'm going to complain either way. One helped my favorite baseball team win a World Series, and the other cost my least favorite college team a win.
Yes I'm a Royals fan. Hard to believe isn't it.Comment

Re: Worst Calls In Sports History
Originally posted by elicolemanWith all this talk about the Super Bowl and the bad officiating, I thought it'd be interesting to talk about some of the worst calls in Sports History.
My all-time vote goes to Colorado vs Missouri, and the extra down or also known as "5th down"
What are some other ones?
2. U.S. getting robbed against the Soviets in hoops in the 1972 Summer Olympics.
3. Brett Hull's skate in the crease on the winning goal in the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals.
Take care,

Re: Worst Calls In Sports History
No one has mentioned the no-call when MJ pushed Bryon Russell in Game 6 and nailed the game winner. I wasn't mad as I was a Bulls fan back then but that was a foul."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Re: Worst Calls In Sports History
Most have been mentioned- the Brett Hull skate in the crease pissed me off the most since the NHL replayed about 4,256 goals in the playoffs that year, but failed to replay that one. I am also bitter of this because called back a game winning goal from the Bruins in Overtime in the playoffs because one inch Tim Taylors skate blade was on the edge of the crease, while he had no involvement in the play. /end of rant/
As for one not mentioned- The blown call againt either Venus and Serena Williams, not sure which one- Tennis fans will know which one Im talking about. It happened about 2 years ago maybe, where the other player got an extra chance because the chair umpire messed up the score.Comment

Re: Worst Calls In Sports History
2005 NLDS Braves vs Astros, Game 4. Umps miss a completely obvious call where Julio Franco kept his foot on the bag and the Braves should have esacped and gone to Game 5. Complete BS. Okay maybe not the worst but still ticks me off.Comment
