Re: Fraternities?
Cool. KA is pretty big here at Alabama. Is Washington a Greek oriented school? Like, for example, the Greeks here at UA basically run the campus. They control the SGA which in turn controls everything else. Is it that way at UW?Originally posted by throwmonkeyI'm a member of the Kappa Alpha Order at UDubTwitter

Re: Fraternities?
I was one of those who saw Fraternities as being kind of lame. I never had any problems finding friends (male & female) while in college. Plus, I didn't have to pay dues to hang out with them.

I'm a GDI, but I rushed. I decided to turn down my bids, though. They pretty much control TCU's campus also. In general, though, I have no problem with frat guys. (Although I did get thrown out of a party once, lol) For some people, it's great. Personally, it wasn't worth the time they require (a lot), etc. But you can have plenty of friends and a great time whether you join a frat or not. I have plenty of friends greek and non-greek. I would say try rushing and maybe find something out about frat life at UVA and then decide if it's for you.Originally Posted by Briman123

KA's were of the Rebel Flag flying variety at Southern Miss. That said, they weren't very popular, especially with minorities.Originally posted by husker9Cool. KA is pretty big here at Alabama. Yeah our pledgeship starts this coming Sunday. I wasn't really thinking about pledging a fraternity until this semester started. So this whole semester been a new experience for me.Twitter

Re: Fraternities?
I was a member of the best frat at my college, the basketball team.
All the girls, friends (well, aquintances) and free booze you could look for, and also without dues - hell, also while on a full scholarship.

Frats just arent that big when you go to school in Boston. There's so much other stuff to do, that its really a waste of time.Comment

Re: Fraternities?
Boston is a huge city. Most small college towns there obviously isn't as much to do. I probably wouldn't have joined a fraternity if I went to school in Boston either.Originally posted by camulosFrats just arent that big when you go to school in Boston.
