Re: How large is your music library?
One artist who accounts for 0.3% of my library equates to "some awful stuff"?Originally posted by dieselboyAvril Lavigne?
And for the record, the only reason Avril's stuff is in my library is because of her connection with Butch Walker, who co-wrote and produced a number of songs on her Under My Skin CD. Not to mention, I will gladly support any artist who takes an artist the calibur of Butch out on the road with them and gives him an opportunity to expand his fanbase and play huge arena shows, which he otherwise wouldn't have been able to do.Comment

GET OUTTA HERE!Originally posted by husker9I've got about 400 songs on my mp3 player. Amateur I know...Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Originally posted by BGarrett7I used a program called iTunes XHTML Playlist. You can download it here.
Essentially, all you do is go to File > Export Song List (as .txt) in iTunes and then load that file into the program when prompted. Upload the HTML file and the images folder, and you're in business.
Thank you.Comment

Re: How large is your music library?
1.No, I was just using one artist as an example. I didn't bother to take the time to go down the list. (Aaron Lewis, aaf, aar, Backstreet Boys, Big and Rich, Bowling for Soup,...). Oh well, its all personal preference.Originally posted by BGarrett71. One artist who accounts for 0.3% of my library equates to "some awful stuff"?

2. Thats a lame excuse. I put music on my iTunes library that I listen, not artists that I respect and don't enjoy their music.Comment

Rightio.Originally posted by dieselboyOh well, its all personal preference.
What I was saying is not that I don't listen to Avril -- if you hop over to my last.fm profile you'll see she has gotten 46 plays, a perfect 0.3% equivilant to what her music occupies in my library -- it was that her connection to Butch is what has made me more open to listening to her music. If he hadn't had a hand in her work and she hadn't repaid him by taking him out on tour, I likely wouldn't have given her a fair shake and written her off as being just another annoying pop artist with no substance. But, instead I found out that she does possess some talent and can kick out quite the listenable pop song.Originally posted by dieselboy2. Thats a lame excuse. To each their own. With as much music as there is out there, I don't think I need an excuse to listen to an artist that I otherwise wouldn't of enjoyed.Originally posted by BGarrett7What I was saying is not that I don't listen to Avril -- if you hop over to my last.fm profile you'll see she has gotten 46 plays, a perfect 0.3% equivilant to what her music occupies in my library -- it was that her connection to Butch is what has made me more open to listening to her music. Re: How large is your music library?
I'm a old schooler as well. Even when I do DL a album, I'll put it on disk. I still buy cds and rock a cd player. With the Ipod, I had a hard time picking a song or album to listen to. It pissed me off so much I just droped it altogether and gave it to my sister. I like picking 3 cds and listening to 1 on the way to work and 1 on the way home with the 3rd being optional. The choices of all the music on the Ipod drove me ape-****. I'd take literally 5 minutes to select a song to listen to......each time.Originally posted by 3rdAnswerI am no longer part of downloading revolution. Re: How large is your music library?
I buy CDs now because I'm still in high school and I drive most everywhere I go. Now when I get to college, I might have to get an Ipod before I go because I wont have a car and it's probably more difficult to tote a CD player and some CDs with me wherever I go.Originally posted by GraphikI'm a old schooler as well. I donno, for me its just one of those cases where to much technology is bad for you. I already take up to 20 minutes picking a cd to listen to, the Ipod drove me crazy because I'd start listening to a album and it would make me want to listen another album and then the confusion would start. Even while driving, I just like to bring a few cds, depending on how long the trip is and just listen to those few. To many options of music just makes it tough for me.
Plus with the cds, I still like looking at liner notes and the pictures. I'm a sucker for having the real, physical album. Its the whole collecting aspect.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment
