Re: Anyone ever work at a walgreens?
That's good that's she's not totally hellbent on getting out of her current job. At least she's willing to do some research first.Originally posted by MagicBucsWsoxFanoh no, I agree. She wont quit her current job, until shes got another in place, but she seems pretty sold that unless this interview goes horrible and they offer her extreamly low pay or wierd crappy hours that she wants this job regardless because she needs out.
One thing she might be able to work out with them is set hours on the weekend. If you guys usually hang out at night, then she may be able to swing something where they only schedule her during days on the weekend.Comment

I come from a long line of fighters, my maternal grandfather was the toughest guy I ever knew. World War II veteran. He killed twenty men and then spent the rest of the war in an Allied prison camp... My father battled blood pressure and obesity all his life... different kind of fight.Originally posted by Acid
And MBWSFan, make sure she doesn't quit her job before finding a new one. Seems like common sense, but there are a lot of people who just don't realize it.Comment

I mentioned it in the thread about what age would you want to get married at. But basically I guess we realised life without eachother wasnt any better than when wed argue so we are trying to work things out and things are getting much better for now.Originally posted by Longhorn6Question...

I dont think its that she wants to work retail. I just think she needs and wants out of her current job asap.Comment

It's that way at UPS, If you've been there long enough you can pull $20 or more an hour plus time and a half.Originally posted by Longhorn6Tell her if there's a container store in your area...try to see if she could get a job there, ever part time.

What about Starbucks? I've heard they pay pretty well, and you get good benefits. A friend of mine only works part time and still gets health insurance.

Re: Anyone ever work at a walgreens?
Stay away from retail....It sucks. I work at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Oklahoma and its soo lame. I never get weekends off and I have to close basically every night I work. Thats one in the afternoon until around 10:30 or 11. If I have to work I basically have no life that day...
Plus people are just plain annoying. You get customer complaints and crap and you deal with the old grumpy ladies that no one likes and you try to help but they say no and then they tell a manager that no one offered to help them...and then you get in trouble. It just sucks... I hope I can find another job...grrr
