    Gatorade?

I heard a wierd rumor awhile ago, i just remembered it because im trying to drink alot less pop.

I heard it can actually be bad for you because it will give you to many electrolights (SP?)

Not sure if this is true..but it couldnt be worse than drinking pop right?

    Re: Gatorade?

The amount of electrolytes it would take to harm your body really isn't obtainable simply by drinking Gatorade.

It's not bad for you, but it is bad for your teeth. I don't know the reason, but dentists will tell you not to drink it.

Gatorade will make you fat. Never, and I mean never, drink it because it tastes good. You should only drink Gatorade when you're exercising or else it will make you gain weight in a hurry. However if you just drink it for its intended use, you won't have a problem.

Gatorade is just as bad as pop unless you actually drink it as intended. It tastes good sure, but it isn't necessarily healthy.

If you can drink salt water without gagging, it will accomplish pretty much the same thing, while being healthier and cheaper.

Plus if the better body thing doesn't work out, the ability to not gag on salty liquids anymore could land you a job as a gay porn star.

Yep. I think the reason they say not to drink it all the time is due to the amount of salt in Gatorade.

Try just drinking water or possibly bottled, flavored water. Probably better for you.

My mother has been telling me lately not to drink sports drinks. She heard something on the radio saying it's not good. I don't remember exactly what she said though.

                      Re: Gatorade?

The problem with Gatorade(as well as many of the other sports drinks) is that they are too concentrated. They are heavily loaded with electrolytes and your body can only absorb so much at a given time. Downing a 32oz bottle of Gatorade will cause many of those electrolytes to just sit in you for a long period of time. The molecules are just too big to absorbed all at once. The best way to drink it is to cut it in half with water. So if you have a 32oz bottle of gatorade, pour 16oz in a cup and add 16oz water to the cup. It will go down a lot easier and absorbtion will be a lot quicker. Gatorade does indeed have a lot of things that straight water doesn't, but too much can be bad as well.

                        Best thing for heat, Water+Pretzels.

If you go around to NFL camps alot of teams have pretzels next to the water coolers. Salt is important.

Nothing beats water! I drink a gallon a day with a little lemon added for flavor. I gave up all those other drinks and lost 15 pounds instantly because of it too!

Too much water is bad though. Man, life sure is a complicated one. Seriously, the lemon thing is tight. I try to only bring water to the games instead of gatorade. Need to eat healthier.......
