Re: What the Hell is on Your Mind Thread

Watching FNL I had a memory back to HS. In 10th grade I played Fullback, we were getting our asses handed to us. I got to play (I sucked at FB, and our ******* JV coach wouldn't move me to TE), on the last play he called a HB Toss Pass. The OL got blown up on the play, I mean like 5 kids coming at the RB, I was able to take out one or two of them with a diving block, but our RB got killed. Our douche bag coach ran on the field yanked me up by the face mask and blamed me for the RB getting hurt on the play. I felt bad, but looking back at it now with the wisdom I've gained in 12 years, and my god that guy was a fricking douche bag. How was it my fault that 5 OLs and 1 TE missed their blocks leaving me out to dry?

I only saw one more snap at FB that season, largely because of that. Our Varsity Coach though was thrilled to have me coming up as a FB, but he got vetoed and I got moved to OL, then TE my senior year. Go figure, thankfully football was my #2 sport behind lacrosse.

Yeah I don't miss those days lol. But if the guy that did hurt your RB was your guy to block then it was your fault in sense. Even if their are guys coming in you need to block your guy. Any ways that sucks. You really have no shot in that play, but that is a coach for you.

How can you say that? If he blocked the guy who eventually hurt the RB, one of the other 4 that were in the backfield probably would have done it.

Those kinds of coaches are the ones who have no business coaching HS football, or any level of football for that matter. They are also the ones that keep me away from football at my school. There were actually 15 kids that quit football at my school between freshman and sophmore year because of the damn coaches.

True, but you are responsible for your guy! But you are right I am just saying in a coaches mind it is different.

My guy was theoretically the CB or SS on the sweep if they jumped the run.

I called the girl to see what's up and she said she was at a carnival with some of her other friends (surprise, surprise), and she asked me what's wrong (again) and I told her "I'll talk to you later about it, it's nothing major, dont worry" and she said "Tell me a little of it at least" and I basically said that I'm kind of bothered that we aren't spending as much time with each other as much as we should be, and she agreed and said that we'll talk about it later.

That was that, now off to see "Flags Of Our Fathers"...

My girl and I have been looking for a house for about two months. Most have had major problems, but this morning we found one that we're pretty interested in. The realtor told us it's owned by an investor in California, so they'll have to contact the realtor that is selling the property to see whats what. Oh yeah, theres another bid on it also, from yet another realtor. But if thats true, why wait to contact the investor until we get serious about it? Why not pursue the other bid? Perhaps they want a bidding war.

We're calling her bluff. I doubt theres another bid, so we're not letting that infuence my bidding. We like the house, but not enough to keep us from trying to get it at our price. Anyway, I'm taking my Dad over Saturday afternoon so he can give it the "dad" inspection. He's wise (old), so I trust his opinion. Only thing that bothers me in including him in any purchase is his patience. The man will wait two months to save a penny if he thinks something will go on sale! Drives me nuts.

I hate my Jeep's CD player. The eject button is so damn sensitive. If I press it too hard it basically thinks I wanted to eject and quickly changed my mind and want it to not eject...so it doesn't eject. Its a bitch while driving.

And I need to find a date for our halloween party next Thursday. I have a girl in mind...but she dated one of my fraternity bros 2 years ago. That's not the problem though. The problem is he told me this past week that her spending habits were ridiculous. I don't want a date who's going to run up a $100 bar tab at our party. But she's hot...so it might be worth it. We'll see...

i manage a jimmy johns, i ended up not bringing a pint with me, i've never drunk at this job.

If I had known that an old friend would be coming into town and at the bar right down the street I definately would have though. The World Series brought him back and he brought some med school friends with him. We hung out all night his dad picked up the bar tab at the first bar (couldn't have been cheap, at least 10 people on it for at least 3 hours). It was a fun night.

Ok well on to what is fully on my mind at the moment. Paypal sent the deposits today. I shall wait 3-5 days for it to show up on my bank account. If it isn't showing up by thursday i'll pull out all my hair and cry like a baby.

Oh and uh, the one upside to having networks and such putting up youtube videos? CBS and CSTV are showing clips of classic NCAA Tournament moments. Wonder if we'll ever see official clips of Bowl Game moments for CFB?

Great, great, great night last night..and potentially a good night ahead tonight.

Greg Johnson needs to stop missing kicks(2 FGs and an XP so far) or he may be one reason Texas ends up losing.

Wow, just watched almost a full episode of NFL Primetime from 1990. Man those were the days when the highlights were actually more straightforward and longer.

The only thing I have to ask is who the heck was Pete Axhelm?!?!
