Re: What the Hell is on Your Mind Thread
Thats logical. I mean I vote for presidents of the USA, but thats it. Local stuff never got my attention. So I never voted just because I didnt feel my opinion would have meant anything since I wouldnt know who i was voting for anyway.Comment

Re: What the Hell is on Your Mind Thread
I turn 18 tomorrow so I could, technically, vote if I did all the voting registration stuff early in the morning...but I'm going to hold off until the next round so I can actually pay attention and such.Comment

Re: What the Hell is on Your Mind Thread
In a way, I'd rather have the people who actually care to vote be the ones voting, so we don't get even more idiots voting for people when they don't know left from right.
Then again, if you don't vote, you don't have the right to complain. I bet most of the idiots who continue to complain incessantly are the ones who aren't even voting. NO VOTE => NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN!
That said, I turned 18 in 2005, and this would have been my first election. I registered online, they sent me this thing that was all filled out with my info and all I had to do was sign it and mail it in. I signed it, and put it on the table so my Mom or Dad could mail it in. I have a feeling my Mom actually ended up throwing it away (like she does with everything), because everyone got their voter info packets and stuff and I didn't get anything. I'm so pissed.
This election is huge and I'm not going to be able to vote. In CA there are quite a few propositions on the ballot that are important (as well as a lot of them that I couldn't give a crap less about). Plus it's a governor's election, and a bunch of other stuff.
I'm pissed I can't vote this year.Comment

Re: What the Hell is on Your Mind Thread
I spent most of my day reading. Sometimes it's best to be away from the computer. I will be watching a VERY interesting episode of American Experience on PBS tonight. It's going to be about the history and evolution of the Gold Rush.
Tomorrow I will be nonexistent for most of the night here as i'll be watching the midterm elections. Maybe the results will push me to actually put new material on my blog.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
