    Regarding the christmas music:

Some stations on here have played a few songs but nothing fulltime. I think we have it right in the Toronto market. There's a station (EZ Rock) that plays nothing but christmas music all December. At least playing the music during December is closer to the actual holliday and more traditional then living in the US and having xmas music playing fulltime BEFORE thanksgiving.

after watching Letterman last night I have the feeling that Michael Richards may not be long for this earth, the dude looked like death warmed over...

Anyways, I'm up at 6:20 AM because I have to write 3 papers before my 10 AM class... What fun!

That has nothing to do at all with what I just said though... The man looked like he was close to killing himself, and quite frankly as morbid as it sounds, I would not be surprised at all if he did just that.

Yeah I saw the clip of him this mornng on the news. The guy looks to be in rough shape. Maybe he has bigger issues then going nuclear on stage. I just hope he doesn't actually kill himself as that would make it all the more tragic.

The Christmas music has already started in TO. And I saw Christmas decorations here in stores in SEPTEMBER. I didn't think it could be even worse than what I was used to in the States. And to top it off, my wife had me go over to her parents' last weekend to put up the Christmas decorations, and now she's griping that we don't have a tree yet, and it's still NOVEMBER, and I'm already sick and tired of Christmas stuff!

Really...I like Christmas and all, and I know that there are no holidays in Canada in November, but can't we at least wait until December?

I feel for you man. My family doesn't start putting up the decorations and such until the first week of December. Maybe we don't have the festive feeling in us?

I think Canadians try to overcompensate for the lack of a November Holliday even though in Ontario government folks had a day off after Remembrance day.

The easy listening station here in Huntsville has begun playing 24 hours of Christmas music and it will continue through Christmas. They do it every year. If I listened to the easy listening station, I'd probably get tired of it.

                    day.
Another reason I'm still in favor of the real Christmas tree: if you put it up this early, it's dead by Dec. 25.

Re: What the Hell is on Your Mind Thread

I've been trying to decide what to do with our Christmas tree this year. We always have put it in the dining room so you could see it from outside, but we could never see it in the house when it is in that room. The dining room is also the "cats' room" where their bed, litter, and food is. So, we kinda don't like having the tree and presents in the same room as all that. Last year we decided that this year we would put it in the living room so we could see it all the time, but now we have a 6 month old puppy and I don't know how she'll react with the tree. She's very well trained, but you never know what a puppy will do. So we might put it back in the cats' room because the pup knows she isn't allowed in there. She won't step one foot in there even though the doors are always opened. But if we do that, we're back to the same situation of not really being able to see our tree. I'd try it out in the living room first, but I don't want to have to move it if it is a problem. I also don't know what kind of glare the lights might have on my TV

Not the biggest problem in the world to have, but I'm trying to decide what to do.

Maybe it is me but with Thanksgiving coming earlier this year it seems ridiculous to already be in Christmas mode. Seriously, Halloween was a mere 3 weeks ago.

Christmas started in October in the US. There was a little christmas stuff up before Haloween and then as soon as that was over it was full blown christmas.

It wasn't that bad in Massachusetts for the most part, it really seems it has been the past week the Christmas onslaught has begun.

I know what you mean! I saw Christmas lights out on this persons lawn before Halloween... All I could think was 'How about you go one holiday at a time guy...'

I guess we just love our Holidays?
