Re: What the Hell is on Your Mind Thread

Today is going to suck, I can feel it. I have 3 classes and then a meeting at 4 which will put me into rush hour traffic in Springfield. Add that to the endless roadwork on I-91 and I-291 and it is happy times, especially after factoring in the numerous drivers from Connecticut who should never be allowed over the border.

For my money, the worst drivers in America come from Connecticut, bar none.

My mood sucks right. My wife had an awful day at work, some jerkoff screamed while she was on the phone with her doctor after she asked him to give her just a minute. Apparently she was ruining his life. This happened right in front of the manager on duty, who of course did nothing about it. The guy then bitched at her because his customers left. Wow, I wonder why they left, it couldn't be because they watched the salesmen scream at someone in the middle of the showroom and act like a 5 year old, no it was definitely my wife's fault for just asking for 1 minute of privacy. Personally, I would live to have a nice. long talk with this jackass, but unfortunately I need to worry about that Bar application next year.

Oh well, at least in 2 weeks we have closing on our old house.

Eh, you all knew I'd change it again. Just a matter of when, not if.

Felt like trying something different... I make no promises this time, I'll keep it until I change it, most likely.

Though Steve says he thinks this one will be an especially short one, so I'm gonna do my damndest to make it stick.

Funny that everyone else in New England and the Tri-State area says that MA drivers are the worst.

Because everyone else in the New England area has no clue how to drive in Massachusetts. They hate what they don't understand.

Outside of the idioticly designed city of Boston with all the winding roads, driving in MA is exactly the same as driving in every other part of New England cept for Fairfield County in CT.

Re: What the Hell is on Your Mind Thread

Springfield and Worcester are completely different than most other areas. Here is my beef with CT drivers, generally speaking they cannot keep a damned speed. It is always speed up, slow down. They also seem to be amongst the bigger offenders in not getting out of the passing lane when they should. It is beyond annoying once you get south of Northampton.

As for Vermont drivers, they just move too damned slow, and also appear to be mildly ******** as to the nuances of the left lane vs. the right lane (which is funny because in VT you can be ticketed for failure to leave the passing lane). I don't really have to deal with RI or Maine drivers much, so no qualms with them. NH drivers vary drastically depending on which side of the state you are on. If you are on the Vermont side, they tend to be a little slower but generally good, if you get out towards Portsmouth then you deal with those who make Boston drivers look sane. Then again, a lot of the problems are caused by NH's stupidity as a whole, like thinking it's a good idea to bring I-93 from 3 to 2 lanes right after the border. Lets not even talk about what 93 looks like after a race at Loudon.

Worse place to drive by far is Boston, MA... Fairfield, CT ain't much better either. There is too much conjestion at the lights, because the lights take forever to change.

The driving isn't too bad in Albany, NY, however their are plenty of Sunday drivers, which pisses me off more than anything.

                        Road Rage... gotta love it.

I can solve that with my Road Rage Instigator statutes. I'll elaborate more later.

I'll drive around Boston before I'll drive around in Manhattan. Granted Manhattan makes sense w. the grids, ppl and cars everywhere makes it worse than driving in Boston. Boston can get annoying esp near Fenway/BU/Comm Ave but it's not too bad. Plus Boston, esp the downtown area, is microscopic compared to NYC.

Fairfield County is just absurd. Constant construction, 95 is a nightmare w. all the trucks and the Merritt during rush hour is a parking lot, esp that area where it goes 8 miles or whatever w.o an exit. Plus where it winds and bends ppl fly through it and always get into accidents cause they're going 80 where they should be going 50. Plus the cotdamn dead deer everywhere. During the Fall in past years I've seen double digit dead deer on the side of the Merritt.

I find that just about everyone does that on the Mass Pike, which I'll be hitting up tomorrow since I'm going up to Boston for the weekend. I don't know if it's because it's such a boring ride w. few exits or what, but so many people cruise in the fast lane instead of getting out of the way.

The slow down/speed up thing is interesting, I can only imagine it for Southern CT ppl who deal w. the hellish traffic on 95 and they're used to speeding up/slowing down constantly just to go w. the flow of traffic. If I'm on the Mass Pike I just get in the left lane and put the cruise control on 75-78 MPH and then just get outta the way if someone comes up on me going 85 or higher.

My biggest beef w. MA drivers is that SO many cut you off and then go 2 MPH. If you're gonna cut someone off, STEP ON IT!!
