-He stays much later then he should, and then clocks out and adjusts his time to say he clocked out at the correct time. Wouldn't be a big deal if he wasn't doing transactions, because that makes it falsified transactions which is illegal in CA.

payroll concerns. management does that a lot in all kinds of businesses. it can mostly be blamed on corporate for not allowing enough payroll to get the job done. It can also be blamed on laziness for not doing what he should be doing doing the time he is scheduled.

Yeah I don't get it either. I see what jpup is saying, but it still isn't making much sense to me. Maybe I need more sleep?

Anyhow, if he's hourly and has to work later and checks out later, wouldn't he get OT pay? If he works later, but checks out earlier, wouldn't he be working for free?

At least that's the way it is in PA (although I'm not real familiar with hourly pay as the last time I was paid hourly was in the summers during high school and I never had to work more or less than 8 hours per day).

We are given a certain number of hours per week, and we can't go over that, and if you work overtime, you have to come in later another day to not go over the hours.

heelsman, most managers are annoying, but the ones I have met have all been pretty cool (minus the current manager), it varies I guess.

jpup, I totally agree. I don't have to lie to get reservations, I'll give people my honest opinion and let them decide for themselves.

Still don't understand then... get paid for the overtime you are putting in and then come late another day... sounds like a reward to me.

The main problem with it is that he is still doing transactions when he shouldn't be, it's illegal to do that in CA.

And he's annoying, so I'd rather have him leave on time then stay an extra 2-3 hours.

oh ok i get it... he just wants the store to prosper so he looks good. I hate managers that care 100% about their store, and couldn't give two ****'s about their employees.

Yeah. Last night, since he wouldn't let Ryan or I work the registers at all, he got every reservation last night, and during closing he asked Ryan "How were your numbers tonight?" and Ryan looked like he was about to snap at him.

I seriously would take any manager over this guy, I hope our district manager fires him.

I was gonna give Josh the ol "Jerky Boys" treatment, I wasnt gonna get you in trouble.

A working person isnt gonna like most people in the authority position. You're not a bottom McD's level but close. As you get older and get better jobs, the "douchebags" are worse and worse. It's all about how you deal with them.

Keep in mind, he can get you fired quicker.

I liked my old manager until he transferred to a store closer to his store.

I haven't done anything wrong, so he can't fire me, he's done a ****load of things wrong, and he's not fired I will be very surprised.

Not that you have done anything wrong but he's in a position where he can frame you. If he ever gets wind of you wanting to pink slip him, he might turn the tables on you.

Never mess around with a man and his livelihood. He's a manager too, please, that might mean the world to him. For a lil pissy *** teen to take that away, he might beat you down.

It's not like I'm the only one trying to get him fired, the whole store is, we're just compiling all the **** he's done wrong and then we're going to present it to the district manager.

He's worked at 5 other stores too, so it seems to be a recurring theme that no one likes to work with him.
