UPDATE: I just got word today that I received the most votes on the first day of the contest. Thus, I won the $1000 prize for most first-day votes. A huge THANK YOU to those that have taken some time to vote for me and really help make my dream come true! Only four more days left in the voting - THANK YOU in advance for helping me out!

Every time you vote, you are entered to win a prize. I don't know what the prize is, but I don't really care either.

"Phase I – Collegiate Participation: Open only to full-time and part-time students who are legal residents of a State or Washington, DC, enrolled and in good standing in a participating school, and who have reached the age of majority in their state of residency at time of entry. Residents of New York and Rhode Island are not eligible. Entrants for this phase will submit two statements to participate in the Collegiate Phase (Phase I) of this program. Based on the statements submitted, up to 10 candidates (the Candidates) (assuming a sufficient number of eligible entries are received) will be determined from each of the 12 schools. A separate voting phase (Phase II) will take place for Candidates selected from each school; the Candidate from each school who receives the most votes will be deemed his/her school’s Grand Prize winner and will have a home football game named for him/her. See Rule #2 for entry details. The collegiate prize portion of this contest is not a game of chance but is a contest of skill based on quality of entrants’ statements and ability to garner votes in support. "

Oh well.

Only college students are eligible to win the big prize, the one my brother is after (the UVa-Miami game being named after him, running out of the tunnel with the team, being on the sideline for a quarter, tickets to the Alltel suite at Scott Stadium, flat-screen TV, mp3 player, and a cellphone). Any time you vote, your cell phone number is entered in a random drawing for a couple different prizes, including a flat-screen TV and some MP3 players.

Not to mention, if my brother wins, he's gonna give away the MP3 player that he wins to someone in the Facebook group he set up.

Finally, wouldn't you rather see a fellow OSer have something good happen to him, rather than some random person?

some brother from UNM did this same thing for his brother.. he won it all.. he was whoring himself out for a few weeks on the unm messageboards .lol.

cool i guess. id probably go all our whoring myself around trying to get votes too.

how did he get nominated? i saw the alltel bus at my school months ago taking votes for diff. people. Not too much action over there. It seems like the majority of the votes come from people like us who dont even know the people.. blind voting rules. lol

on this other forum i visit, this girl won a beauty contest because of about 200 people who constantly voted. she won like 80% of the votes, lol.
