And I hear it's CHEAP as hell. I've thought about moving out of the Tri-State area in the next few years, Austin is certainly at the top of the list of my places to check out.

If you find the crowd or scene a little too young on 6th, try 4th.

Unless you're staying downtown you'll probably want a rental car to hit 6th...or be prepared to shell out some cash to get a cab.

Yep when I was down there for Duke's Sweet 16 appearance that's where I hit it up. Austin has a lot going on, and have thought about moving there someday.

That is funny, but no. It has kind of transitioned to where the older crowd is at the beginning of 4th (west). The gay bars are on the beginning of 5th (http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/downtown/ware_map.htm). I only know this because my free parking spot forces me to walk by the gay clubs. I am starting to prefer 4th a little more just because it has a more toned down vibe than 6th. Though getting whistles from dudes as you are making your way to 6th really throws you off your game...
