Well just got a speeding ticket....

Well I was on my way back to college in Pa and i must have not been payin attention and i got a speeding ticket for goin 86 in a 65.... does anyone have any advice on what i should do even though i do kno i already will pay for it but is there any way to reduce the fine?

Some states have a driving school you can attend if it is a first offense. You can always challenge the ticket and hope they lose the paperwork or they did something procedurally wrong.

The last time I did I got lucky and the cop made a mistake so I got off. That was good because he was lying on the speeding.

Go to the court date, plead "No Contest" and the judge will in all likelihood reduce it for you, assuming you don't have prior infractions.

NEVER pay the price on the ticket, unless you've had a lot of traffic run-ins. Show up, wait in line, get it knocked down, and pay the fine.

Of course I haven't had any issues since my sophomore year of college six years ago, so things may have changed

all three of those will eliminate the ticket in one way or another. I know when I got one here in NC, I got a free lawyer through my father's union to represent me in the city I got it. He used improper equipment and that took care of the ticket. I still had to pay the court fees, which usually are the bulk of a ticket cost anyways. I don't know the real purpose behind improper equipment, since i never had to prove that anything was broken or that I ever got anything fixed.

The main thing with tickets is that even if you have to pay $200 for the court fees, you don't want points on your license.

Went through this my Junior year of HS. Was going 59 in a 25. Yeah. I know. Insane. But it was a speed trap that caught numerous students per day. But my mom works for Tusc PD(no..she's not a cop or dispatcher) so I got out of the ticket. However, I recently got a ticket here on campus getting into a turn lane too early(cop was having a bad day is all I can figure out). Mom made a call to the judge, and I get to take a 3 hour defensive driving course and the ticket gets wiped off or whatever.

My advice is to do the traffic school. Get it off your record and slow down next time. Or your insurances will sky rocket.

Personally i'd be a man and pay the full amount. There's a time for accountability in life and that's one of those times.

Being a man is protecting the ones you love or helping people in need. Paying the full amount for a ticket really doesn't strike me as an important moment.

I don't see any connection with being a man by paying the ticket off. Paying off a ticket will make points go on your license and insurance will go up too. There are procedures in place to take care of them. While you can get the real penalties thrown out one way or another, you have to pay court costs. The ticket I got was only for $10, yet I still had to pay like $225 in fees. Sometimes fees are enough reason to not do something. You don't need to jack your insurance up.

Like you wouldn't do the same. You might want to watch out because someone's gonna cap that high horse you're on and its a long fall.
