What's the best flavor to mix with milk? Creamy Vanilla or Chocolate?Twitter

Honestly I thought they were both awesome. They are really rich.

You're good either way

Yeah i love the chocolate as well. I can drink that stuff for pleasure it tastes so good so the fact it has 20+ grams of protein per scoop is a great bonus!
My post workout shake usually contains 1.5 scoops of ON double choc whey powder, 1 cup of skim milk, 1 cup of cold water, a frozen bannana and some ice cubes. I wiz it all up in my blender and it tastes amazingly good. I only allow myself the shake after lifting so there have been days where i haven't been motivated to lift but i have forced myself just so i could have the shake.Comment

Aright, chocolate it is. And wow..pb has around 90 cals per per tbsp. What else could I put in there that wouldn't more harm than good?Twitter

Chocolate IMO is best for both water and milk. Now that I'm at school, i usually have two scoops of chocolate with water for breakfast and two scoops with water after working out. I love it! I look forward to drinking my shakes, and they blend pretty well too, just stir a knife in a cup!University of Oregon

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
Due to school stuff, I've had to cut down on my gym visits, down to 3 a week
Mon: Legs and shoulders
Wednesday: Chest/Back
Friday: Bis/Tris
If I have time, on the days in between I'm playing basketball. I'm getting in decent shape and I feel as good as I have in years. I had a nagging shoulder injury for a while and I'm going to give it a shot to see if I can play tennis (serving hurt like a mofo, not as much as pitching/throwing though) soon. I like doing high impact cardio a lot more than running
About a month ago I started doing squats and am loving it- I'm not able to put up too much weight right now but it's feeling good. Now that I have my form down, it's a seamless experience. The first time, my back bugged the hell out of me the next day. Now, other than my sore quads, I don't feel anything

And...squats are a great exercise...good thing you finally found out about them.Comment

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
Update:
I lift six days a week, and on the seventh day its just cardio and abs. I have a chest day, a back/biceps day, and a shoulders/triceps day. I'm thinking of making that seventh day a leg day, but I just haven't gotten into it. I usually play basketball five days a week, and workout abs twice a week. I hate abs.
For the last...oh five months or so, I have been using BSN N.O. Explode before every workout and BSN Cell Mass (creatine) after every workout.
I'm putting up more weight on every workout than I ever had before. But, I have had a few setbacks. My shoulder injury has bothered me for months. I had a back problem for about 10-12 days. I also was sick for probably 4-5 days, and lost some weight. And most recently, I hurt my wrist, (I think playing basketball), which has killed my workouts. I am on day four of no lifting and it is starting to feel really good. Come Sunday, I should be able to start it up again.
Wow, I realized I hadn't updated since right around Christmas time. I am currently weighing in at 182-185 every morning. I expected to be at about 190 by now.
As far as products/supplements, I am completely confident that N.O. Explode is a must. I went a week without it, and I noticed a big difference. I am getting stronger and it shows, but I'm not adding the size. I wonder if I should be taking the creatine more than once a day? Or maybe I'm just not eating enough?
I also think I need to start changing my workouts. Recently I have been doing four sets of eight reps in every lift. I'm thinking of doing 4x8 one week, 5x6 one week, 3x10 another, then alternate. Or something.
-----
Also! I need to place another order of products...I'm thinking of trying the Champion Nutrition heavy weight gainer: http://www26.netrition.com/heavyweight_gainer_page.html
And, re-upping my supply of NO Explode and Cell mass:
Let me know if I should get something else? or more? Thanks in advance guys.Last edited by dieselboy; 03-13-2008, 01:59 AM.Comment

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
I agree with the NO-Explode. It's great before workouts, only thing is it dehydrates me quite a bit, so I have to piss like crazy from all the water I drink.
If it hasn't already been said, has anyone tried BSN's protein powder? I swear, if you put milk, the powder, and an ice cube or two in a blender, it tastes just like a regular milkshake. I've tried Optimum Nutrition and GNC powders, and they suck horribly compared to BSN, in my opinion.
A nice little success story for everyone, too. I started lifting seriously again about 2 months ago. I weigh 175-180 lbs and am 6'1". Needless to say, I considered the "bench your bodyweight" goal fairly difficult because I'm relatively skinny. Well I just hit it today, benching 175 lbs three times unassisted. I couldn't do 120 lbs even once when I started. Now my 10-rep weight is about 145. It was probably the most motivating moment of my lifting career, and I've found that focusing on strength helps me stay motivated more than focusing on gaining size. The size is coming along, but the strength gains are what gets me excited to get back in the gym each day.Listen to some of my covers:

Congrats on the gains.
I'll say all my motivation for lifting is strictly aesthetic!Comment

Re: For all you guys wanting to gain muscle, size, etc.
Basically, all of my workouts are just to maintain and get more toned. I don't even use a barbell for bench presses anymore. Everything for me now is to make sure I still look decent into my 40's and 50's.Comment

I'm at that point now too. I used to only care about strength but the older you get the harder it is to gain.

No need for it and I hate the damn question..."what do you bench?"
Incline/decline/flat DB press & flies do the trick for me...maybe I'll bench one day.Comment
