Whats important is you break down your muscle fibers, it doesnt matter how - once you break them down they are good to rebuild and grow.

Do cardio regardless of what lazy bastards will tell you. Cardio will make you bigger, WHY because the stronger your cardiovascular system is the better nutrients and protein uptake will be in your system. Plus the stronger your heart, the better the blood flow, the more reps you can do = the bigger you get.

Anything that hurts = avoid doing it. I dont care what some idiot tells you about a certain lift. We all have different builds and certain lifts may cause pain which will eventually lead to injury.

You need to avoid injury at all costs.

      Thanks for the advice though!
The thing that leaves me highly skeptical on the site is that the products that they are selling are EVERYWHERE. Not only that, but they are constantly referencing how they're own products can help this and that. They can easily change information here or there, or omit things here and there to benefit their own goals. You know, kind of like skewing things so they can bring in more revenue.

It's kind of like why magazines can't really be trusted 100%. They have advertisements that they have to cater to. If they publish articles or say things that aren't matching up to the advertisements of different companies, then companies are not going to want to advertise in their magazine anymore. The advertisements is how magazines make their big money.

So thats the reason I'm skeptical. I'm not saying it's wrong. Just that I'm skeptical.

I sent an e-mail to one of my professors to see if he'll give a look over the site. He has his bachelors and PhD in exercise physiology. He completed his master's but I forget in what area. What's also pretty cool is that he was a body builder. He won Mr. Florida and finished 7th in the National body building competition. So he knows his stuff. I'll let you know what he thinks. That is, if you care to know...lol

I do squats/lunges. I had a dislocated kneecap that still pops in a out, which makes me hesistent to test it out at high weights without a spotter.

I was speaking about things like overhead presses, lat-pull downs(behind the head), some incline/decline presses, people who do tricep skulls wrong.

If it hurts dont do it.

I always thought the general rule regarding reps was:

2-6 reps = better for building strength

8-12 reps = better for building muscle

I did Max OT for a while a few years back and definitley found it gave me fairly quick increases in strength but considering i mainly lift for muscle and not for strength i ended up changing to a more tradition routine.

I'm actually thinking of decreasing the number of days i lift (currently 4-5) back to 2-3 full body workouts. I'm shooting for more a lean, muscular look with low bodyfat these days rather than sheer size so i'm upping the cardio (hour per day 5-6 days per week) and cutting the cals back a bit.

I wish I found bb.com in college because I had no idea about cals man. Now I finally understand nutrition I have gotten in the best shape.

The diet is working awesome for me. My "carb ups" have been gross and terrible so if I keep them under control I'll get sub-10% bf. I'm pretty close.

I hate my desire to eat sweet stuff. Who gives a **** what you eat? Finding joy out of food is the stupidest thing because it's not like you get any long-term satisfaction out of it. If you eat healthy ish you fill up anyways and then you feel better physically and mentally. Still with that said I'd love to eat some fresh cookies. I make myself sick haha

The best pre-workout food to eat is a banana. If you got a taste for sweets eat strawberries.

What are your energy levels like? Do you crash at any part of the day? Do you feel any different now that your body has totally converted to burning fat instead of carbs? Do you have any problems with certain volumes or intensities? What about cardio?

I do realize that every sentence was a question...haha

                        Energy levels: they're just fine
                        Do I crash: nope
Do I feel different: I don't feel as hungry throughout the day
Problems with weights/cardio: The only complaint I have is that I cramp easier than I used to and I drink at least 1.5 gal/water day.

I take a multivitamin and potassium supplement. No real supplement other than the occasional scoop of protein when I want to make my own little chocolate mix which fits within the macros of the diet.

                            Hmmm...not so sure of this.

Cardio can actually inhibit muscular growth. This is because of how muscle adapts to endurance training. The body adapts to this training by decreasing muscle fiber size. This is because it allows for better gas exchange. With the muscle fibers being smaller, gasses are able to pass from fiber to fiber much more efficiently and quickly. This allows for better, more efficient, gas exchange. This is an adaptation to cardio and endurance training.

Clear example of this is long distance runners. This is the reason why distance runners are ALWAYS so skinny. You never will see a huge distance runner....NEVER.

I can easily maintain or lose. Gaining is the most difficult.
