Yeah, it is horrible.

They allow you 5 absences, but really all you have to do is swipe into the lectures with your ID card and leave if you don't want to be there, as there are enough students in the class the teachers don't notice.

I know I didn't go over the 5 non-swipe misses, so that can't be the problem either.

I just want to hear back from the professor now and find out what the hell this is about.

Well, got it fixed.

Professor said it was a mistake, and I should have had an 86.4...and since he is "pretty liberal about rounding" that means I should have went from a C+ to a B+

Wouldn't that only help, though? They can't deduct points because of a curve, can they?

And anyway, no, the only thing they do to alter grades is remove the lowest quiz grade, which in my case was a 30.

My grades:

Quizzes: 80, 90, 30, 80, 85, 100, 80, 100, 85
Exams: 86, 92, 83
Final: 85

Now, even with the 30 averaged in, my quiz average is an 81.1, my exam average is an 87, and I got an 85 on the final.

How the heck does that average out to a C+?

Note: Already sent the professor an e-mail asking the same thing. This, not only will give me my first C in my history, but also drops me below a 3.2 which I need....and the grade doesn't even make sense.

In high school, my Calc teacher had a grading scale where anything below a 95 was a B, below 85 was a C, 75 a D, etc. Perhaps it's the same thing here.

Anyway, one more final to go! It starts in four hours, and I have an essay to start and finish in that time. Then back home WOO!!!

That was the grading scale for my school during my first two years of high school, it really sucked especially since I had just moved there and hadn't seen or heard about anything like it before.

Same here. Just finished.

I can't believe that Oral Communication is a requirement. Easily the toughest two exams I've had all year were from this class. I hope the final didn't change my grade from a A or B to a C.

I have not taken Comm103 yet (system hasn't made me, I've taken my major preps this semester because I took classes for my minor last semester). I'm probably going to take it this Fall, but so far there's been mixed reviews from people I know who take that class. People who either enjoyed it or hated it.

So far my final grades look like this;

Biology: B-
History: F

Overall GPA went from a 2.54 to a 2.07. I do not know what it will be when I get that F in math. I'll have an A- in English, but that won't help too much.

Edit: I took some High School college courses, which also brought my GPA down. My GPA last semester was a 2.79, then between the 4 college courses I took in High School, it went down to a 2.54. I need to stop being dumb***, and start studying, stop skipping class, and start doing homework.
