It's a double edged sword. They were well meaning but in the media business you got to keep going til the well is dry and unfortunately it can lead to incidents like this.

it doesn't help that the media is hailing the VT shootings as the worst in american history. That just sets the high score for people like him to follow it some day.

The media needs to show some responsibility when they hype horrible events like this, and when they show their insane pre-taped manifestos on television.

They should, but so long as they can use the 1st Amendment to shield themselves from the criminal liability that they should face it will never happen. I highly doubt our forefathers ever thought the free press would be as irresponsible as they have become.

2. I agree with you here. It seems in society today people forget that less is more. We don't need to know EVERYTHING but this fact is lost among some high ups who makes these decisions. Apparently NBC has even worse/disturbing material that they say won't see the light of day. So at least there's is SOME restraint.
