Re: I can't afford to drive my car anymore.
I desperately want a GT-R, but it's my understanding they are going to be real tough to come by initially. So I might have to hold off until the supply becomes a little bit easier.Comment

Re: I can't afford to drive my car anymore.
Ther's one reason I don't like the IS350. Ride is too soft, and cushy. I want a car I can really "drive" if you know what I mean? It's a nice car, but it's not a drivers car. It's got a great interior though.
Some things on the G37, I found out at the Infinity dealer. They are upping the horsepower to something like 309 or 310. (Something in that range). Nav system is voice activated (current 350Z, G35 Navi uses crappy joystick which I hate). Bluetooth and all that stuff is in. Push button start. Media center, so it's basically got a hard drive that you can upload your CD's and MP3's too. I believe it also has video inputs, the guy said I could plug my XBOX in to it.
The new G35X, has a lot of these features if you want to check them out.
335i is nice, but imo, you get a lot more bang for the buck, with the G37.
When my wife's lease runs out next month, we're picking her up a Mercedes ML 450. I can't get her out of an SUV. She loves them. So I am guessing my gas bill is really going to sky rocket.
Many of those same features are on the 350 and is what led me to the car (ie: voice activated NAV, push button start, bluetooth etc...). It doesn't have a hard drive though which is a cool feature of the G.
I'll have to take another look at the G35X again. I really do like many of the cars in this segment.Comment

Re: I can't afford to drive my car anymore.
It's $3.30 right by my house but I'm lucky since it only takes about $25-$30 to fill up my tank.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: I can't afford to drive my car anymore.
Around here its about $2.99 a gallon. Gets more expensive as you get outside Tuscaloosa city limits. Lucky for me, its summer. So I only get out on the roads 4 maybe 5 days a week as opposed to 7 during spring/fall semesters. But yeah...$59 to fill up is ridiculous. And with the mileage a Jeep Grand Cherokee with 4WD gets, it sucks.Twitter

Re: I can't afford to drive my car anymore.
I know what you mean about the IS350. It will be my daily driver so I want something between sport and comfort. My main concern is still RWD in snow, but I think snow tires and a second set of rims should do the job.

They had a fully loaded G35X on the lot, , for a sticker price of about $38,500. You can't beat that.
And while the G35X doesn't brake and corner like my Z does, it does brake and corner quite well for a 4 door in that class. Off the line, it's pretty close to my Z right now.
If you want a 4 door, I'd at least look at the G35X. If not, I really don't see another car in this class that can match the G37 when you factor in, performance, features and price.
Let me know what you think if you check out the G35X. I am with you, between the 3 series BMW, IS350, Infinity G series, Audi A4/S4, Acura TL, Volvo C70 or S80 and even Mercedes C230 Kompressor Sedan, there are lot of cars that I really like that mix fun to drive with comfortable, for a manageable price.Comment

My next car will probably be either a Nissan Altima or a Lexus unless they come out with a sleek looking sedan that runs on garbage like in Back to the Future.AUBURN TIGERS

I didn't even know they still sold Jeeps. I haven't seen a Jeep of any kind around here in what seems like years.Comment

Re: I can't afford to drive my car anymore.
I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition with a V8. That sucker can move but I'm getting raped at the gas pump right now. My office is about 18 miles from my house and I do in home personal training 3 days a week before I go into the office which is about 12 miles from there. I'm trying to cut down on the driving on the weekends, but I'm still having to fill up at least twice a week.

Re: I can't afford to drive my car anymore.
Tell me about it. I have a Dodge Dakota R/T with the damn V8 engine, custom intake, exhaust, etc., so it gets about 4 miles to the gallon. You can pretty much watch the needle going towards empty as you drive it. It more or less just sits now. I got a IS300 for a daily driver and it's nice to be able to fill up for less than $60.
When I gun the engine to pass folks on the highway, I'll look at the computer display that gives me my miles to empty and it will go from like 274 miles to empty to 269 miles to empty.
It's nice having all that power, but I guess it's because I'm getting older....I'd rather have the gas mileage now than the ability to blow past most cars on the highway.AUBURN TIGERS

Re: I can't afford to drive my car anymore.
Hate to say it... but I wouldn't have a clue how much gas costs. Company vehicle baby! Have had one for the last 8-9 years, and at the fleet pump it only tells ya how many gallons you have pumped.I do have a company card to fill up if I get stuck out and about but haven't had to use it in a long while.
