The last car I bought was at a new Ford/Mazda dealership that had just opened. I get free oil changes, tire rotations, tire balances, wiper blades, air filters, brakes, and tires. It comes out to I believe 12 oil changes, 12 tire rotations, 6 balances, 6 wiper blade replacements, 12 air filters, 4 new tires, and 2 brake jobs. I don't have too much to worry about the first 5 years.

I've got all the details in the portfolio I was given that keeps track with it all. Being that he got himself a BMW, I'm sure they'd do the same for most any new customer, if not all customers.

I pay $650 a year in insurance for a 350z. That's ridiculous you pay that much per month.

I wouldn't pay $470 a month in car payments for a Mustang, nevertheless the insurance.

Are you considered a high risk driver or something?

He's 18. I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. I think most/all rates drop at 25?

CJ drives a chick car. Female drivers are known to be worse drivers than male drivers. Therefor, when the auto insurance company saw it was a chick car, they boosted the insurance prices up.

If being 18 is considered that then yeah. No accidents, no tickets, nothing. Well no reported accidents, some guy hit me on the parkway going 5MPH.

$650 a year, wow. Put it this way, for my sisters Cavalier, it was $190 a month. For a Cavalier.

There is a difference between choosing to drive a chick car, and being forced. You chose to buy the Mustang, whereas my parents decided to buy the car I drive, as a "family car," without my knowledge of them doing so.

It isn't a bad car by any means, but If I had a choice, I would have went with something different.

Yeah I think it is 25. I do remember my parents complaining about paying for my car insurance at that age.

My car age 16-18, a 1983 Peugot 505s. Beat that.

                    It looked something like this.

Best part about it? It was heavy as a tank, yet still had a tiny 4 cylinder engine in it. Which meant not only was it ugly as all get out, but it was slow as a school bus to boot.

Sounds like it was a blast to drive. :y4:

Yeah, I had a similar experience with my old car. The 2002 Mazda 626. Such an ugly car, and it too had only a 4 cylinder engine. Luckily, my sister totaled it two months ago, so I never have to drive it again.
