I've never torn any ligaments. I feel left out.

Only thing I have ever done that set me back some time, was when I broke my arm as a kid. I've had sprains, twists, bruises, scrapes, cuts, etc.. However, I've never had any injury like an ACL tear.

I tore my ACL last July. Welcome to the club pal. You're in for a hell of a recovery.




EDIT: Partial tear huh? I completely tore my ACL in my right knee and they had to take out a muscle in my hamstring as a replacement for it. You're looking at a lot of rehab, not as much as you would endure if it were a full tear so I'm kinda envious. Anyway, best of luck.

My new ACL was taken from the middle of my patella tendon, it's been a year and a half since my surgery and I still have pain and it's still swollen.

Wow, I guess mine just went really well.

2 months after surgery, maybe a little sooner it felt 100% fine and it wasn't really swollen at all. And I've never had any soreness or swelling or anything after running and playing sports.

I broke my knee cap, femur, partially tore my acl and mcl, tore part of my quad and dislocated my knee cap about four years ago. After a year of PT I was able to run again in a year and a half.

Just tore my mcl this year, out for a few months for that.

I was playing basketball, driving the lane. I went to do a spin move, right before i spun someone fell into my leg causing it o buckle horrendously. Because I had already started a spin i couldn't stop myself from doing so. The bottom half of my leg basically stayed where it was and from the knee up it rotated 360 degrees. It was disgusting.

I need to go to the doctor about my knees, but i have no health insurance.

ive thought for a long time i tore my meniscus.

basically hurts when i straighten my leg all the way, and when landing after jumping.

If i hold my leg out with a slight bend at the knee and press under my knee cap with my finger it hurts like hell too. some days i cant even walk down stairs.

I still jsut keep playing abll anyway, but this year im going to take atleast 6 months off without ball and get my weight down and just try and strengthen it somehow.

does anyone have any suggestions?

stationary bike. helped me a lot when the knee was all f'd up. still use it today.

DON'T. You do NOT want to go through this. That's all anyone I think can say about the surgery.

Yikes. That's exactly what they did with me. Scary, isn't it? They completely get rid of the ACL you "had" left and then drill a new spot and place new muscle tissue in place of it, while holding it down with tiny little screws for support.

OMG man I feel lucky having read that.

Anyway, thanks for all the kind words; I'm doing a lot better today of all days, after constant icing for the past day and a half. The swelling is down immensely. I think I'm going to get my knee drained tomorrow though, because you can still feel the blood there.

Good luck with your rehab Pared.

I'm going in on friday to have my knee scoped for a lateral meniscus tear. Already got my subscription for pain killers filled. ^_^
