I've DJ'ed weddings for almost 7 years so maybe I can help...

        - Usually the bride-to-be has a song in mind...have you asked her yet?

        - As far as mother/son dance, I always recommend 'What A Wonderful World' by Louis Armstrong. Why? It's about 2:30. When you're up there dancing with your mom and a whole room watching even 2:30 seems like an eternity. Another new trend is doing mother/son & father/daugher in one dance. Most of the guests don't feel like sitting there watching 3-5 dances so it's one less dance they have to sit through.

Father/daughter song is almost a no brainer. The first time I heard it on radio, tears started rolling down my face on the way to work. Now, I've heard it at a ton of weddings.

Beautiful song. My wife danced with her father for that one. A great one for Mother/Son that we danced to is called "A Song For My Son" We cried our eyes out on the dance floor.

My wife and I's song was "From This Moment" by Shania Twain. I love that song.

Ugh, it is not, and will never be Metallica's. It is the Misfits' song, and with only two Die's in the title.

Seriosuly though, do you really want your wedding song to be something you pulled off of a Sports gaming site? At any rate, if I was getting married tomorrow and had to come with a song, it would be "Sistinas" by Danzig. It's not too long, sweet, and by my favorite artist.

Yes it is. Sounded good in Karate Kid II.

How about "Too Close" by Next. Always thought that was a fine choice for dancing.

For my family the wedding song has historically been Kool and the Gang's "cherish".

That song is pretty much out now....the new one is "I Loved Her First" by Heartland. Just had a wedding this past weekend that used it. I think every wedding I've done since that song has come out has used that one.

I'm personally glad people aren't using Butterfly Kisses anymore. I've heard it a million times and it's way too long (I think it's about 5:30).

Westlife - I wanna grow old with you

The words in these two songs work perfectly for a wedding. Really good lyrics.

When I get married we are using the Firehouse song.
