    Re: Vitamin Water

Vitamin Water is the biggest marketing scam I've ever seen. The stuff isn't good for you at all, it's identical to Gatorade and close to soda. WAY too much sugar in it.

33g of sugar per bottle?! No thanks! It's amazing what marketing can do for a product and how gullible consumers are. Just look at the damn label and see what's really in it.

Drink it after a tough workout occasionally, but don't casually drink it throughout the day.

The stuff actually does have high vitamin and antioxidant content albeit high in sugar. I really enjoy it actually...and for those of you paying $1.99 thats ridiculous. I get it for around $1.30

well I don't really drink many things mixed with tons of vitamins or whatever else. All you're doing is paying $2 for vitamin rich urine.

You're probably right. Most schmoes peruse the beverages refrigerator at stores and likely think to themselves "Hmmm..I'm tired of being an out of shape turd, I need the healthier choice...oh, this looks healthy..Vitamin water..Vitamins are good for you, I'll take it!"

I bet less than 5% of customers actually read the ingredients. Maybe I am wrong, but it appears the lesson here is: you don't need to actually produce something healthy, just make it appear healthy and people will flock like pidgeons.

Yah I heard that too. David Ortiz is making some money in that as well.

Exactly, you're buying expensive urine. It's the same reason why a lot of people don't take daily multivitamins.

Yup, it's another contributing factor to the obesity of our country. People can't think for themselves. As you said, their thought process is "Hmmm..I'm tired of being an out of shape turd, I need the healthier choice...oh, this looks healthy..Vitamin water..Vitamins are good for you, I'll take it!"

If people want vitamins, why not eat an orange and some salad? Have a tomato.

Vitamin Water tastes wrong. Regular Water is healthy enough for me.

The worst is when they add vitamin boosters to smoothies at those smoothy bars in the rec centers... totally ruins the drink.

Have you guys heard the David Wright vitamin water story?
He did a comercial for them awhile back but instead of paying him money they have him stock in the company.
To make a long story short once Coke bought out the orginal owners of Vitamin Water his the stock shot up like 500%. He ended up getting paid like 1 million dollars for a half day of work.

It would be insider trading ( I think) if the parties involved acted on the knowledge of the Coca-Cola's purchase of Vitamin Water before the information has gone public.

I like it because it tastes good and is low on sugar. The citrus flavor is reeeal nice.
