Well ofcourse. People don't come down to Alabama and Florida's beaches to surf. Its mostly families on vacation.

Re: Been going to the US a lot lately...

I've had the opportunity of living in quite a few places because my dad was in the military growing up, it includes AZ, CA, NV, ND, GA, FL, HI, Guam, IN and MO. So for the most part, I've been able to experience quite a bit as far as living in different areas of the nation except for the Northeast. But as of now, if I had a chance to decide on where I want to live and bring up a family or whatever, I'd really like to return somewhere down South, maybe GA/SC/NC. I really like having all 4 seasons while not trying to get your face frozen or melted off but you just can't beat Hawaii or San Diego weather.

Meanwhile, I just bought a 1,300 sq ft house in Oklahoma for $55,000. Wow. Eff California.

My friends are I were planning on driving down to Florida after grad. Would Alabama be alot cheaper?
The Gulf Shores area in Alabama is a really nice vacation spot. Destin, which is in the Florida panhandle about seven or eight miles from where I live, is also a really great vacation spot with some of the nicest beaches around.

Yeah, I remember Destin. My parents are from Fort Walton Beach, so I've been there several times. I wouldn't mind going back now that I'm older though.

There's well over a hundred up there now; there's barely any wall left to sign, but I'll save you a spot.

NOTE: When I moved in, this wall wasn't here, so I framed it, sheetrocked it, and had planned on texturing and painting it the next day. I threw a party and had everyone sign it and take a Polaroid . . . well, the next morning I decided the rest can wait until I sell or move.

What kind of combined salary would you need to get a house like this annually? 150,000k?

Household income of a little bit more to be comfortable I would think, depending on how you finance it.We made a nice profit on our previous house (we bought it before the big real estate boom out here) and rolled that in to the new property.
