Well, the way I see it is when you donate, you are buying a blue name and an avatar, so if someone donates for you, you should still get it. But the list is separate, one of the perks of donating is not "not being on the dirty dozen." It's a separate thing.

I can agree with that.

I donated for The C and Flawless, not to get them off the list but because I thought they both deserved the "perks" (a blue name, custom avy, custom title) donators get due to their additions to the site.

I say we create a new list, the "Cheap Bastards" list, or something along those lines. Put those that were bought donations on that list. IMO, that list would be worse than the Dirty Dozen.

Like I said in my Oscar winning post... when there's a free offer on the table (without some scam behind it), perhaps aside from morals or ethics, there is no reason it shouldn't be taken. You walk by and somebody is at a hot dog stand handing out $20 bills... you're just going to walk by? Ohhhh man, yes, you are so cheap for doing that. You are unworthy, desperate padawan. You are worse than the people that walk past it.

There were many candidates for this event, not just the people that won it. That said, it shouldn't be my fault that dkgojackets picked me, therefore I'm considered a cheap bastard. How about because I decided to run for it I'm considered a cheap bastard. That said, everybody that ran was trying to take the same opportunity for granted as I did.

Besides, I can't stress enough that I am normally not that kind of guy to take money without paying it back. I just can't do it. That said, I'm planning to pay him back. If he is going to be so forceful as to say this was a Christmas gift for me, then I will step aside and take the donation. Just the same, you all should consider it to be the same way.

I've always wanted to donate, you guys know that. All I needed was to enter the 16 digit number on the ol' card. Only problem is, parents wouldn't allow for it. They just wouldn't. Nothing I could do about it. I'm not being "cheap". I'm being human. You guys would have done the same thing.

You've never had a job? Weren't you the one that posted you went out on Black Friday and bought some DVDs or something? Where'd you get that money? Did you really need what you bought that day? Was it too hard to stuff 20 bucks in a envelope and mail it to Steve?

I didn't say I don't have money. I have plenty of money. I'm lazy, that's why. Do you think I ever mail ****? I never mail ****. I don't own envelopes, stamps... I don't even know how to send mail out of this freakin' residence hall. I missed the opportunity on getting $9 on the "free" HDMI cable I bought because I didn't send in the mail-in rebate. I just happen to be lazy.

But yes, I do have a job. And for the next two years, I will be getting $12,000/year.

I have to admit if being picked for this (and for good reason, otherwise I wouldn't have been picked) means I'm just going to be picked on, IMO it's not worth it. Just remember that I shouldn't be picked on for actually being chosen... unless you're picking on everyone else that attempted to be chosen. They're just as cheap as I am for intending on taking the same offer I actually got.
