PA drivers are worse on 80. I don't know how many times one of them has cut in front of me while I'm going 85 only to have them slow down to 65 once they get into the left lane. 80 sucks in PA also because it's a 2 lane road and there is always construction that puts you in bumper-to-bumper traffic for over an hour.

      As for New Jersey.

      - really high car insurance rates
      - high cost of living
      - traffic
      - gets very humid in the summer.

Re: The WORST things about where you live...

                        - Take out is almost non-existent, and is garbage compared to what I'm used to (South Jersey/Philly area).

                        - With no inspection stickers, a lot of barely road legal cars are on the roads down here. I've seen a car with no hood, a homemade dually pickup, zippered driver side window, and an off-duty ambulance pulling a flatbed. Hop on 27 heading toward Levy County, and tell me I'm kidding.

                        - The sun has gone upside many a person's head. Leathery femmes..not a good look, but most are thankfully too old for me.

                        - Wal-Mart destroys local economy. It's a death sentence for most small business, and aometimes threatens the local Winn-Dixie/Publix/Hitchcock's/etc.

                        - Mediocre music scene.

                        - Despite an influx of bitter South Florida residents and other U.S. transplants, still reeks of "Gator Nation".

                        - WCJB 20 is the most consistently incompetent news crew I've seen.

                        - People have weird driving habits around here. They'll tailgate the hell out of you, or are frustrated if you are doing even 10 MPH over the speed limit, and blaze by you. Also, in the outskirts/rural area, most take forever and a day to turn off the road. Bizarre.

                        - "Horse Capital of the World". It's increasingly bull****, but there are a lot of nice horse ranches and estates here. What's funny is, a non-Florida based horse organization named H.I.T.S. takes the town over in the winter.

                        - The area is just barely diverse, and thus, lacks culture and identity.

                        - Lovebugs. Nuff said. If you visit here during their "season" (usually May and September, not May until September), prepare to wash those things off the car ASAP.

Re: The WORST things about where you live...

                          1. Winters. I don't care if it is snowing (Toledo has a nice pocket which snow dies in, so no lake effect snow, the snow storms come here to die, to then pick up again in cleveland with vengence), but when we reach that phase where the temperatures hang around 0 (or in last year's case, -10), it is just annoying. Everything looks dead, no snow on the ground, everything is frozen, getting into my car and driving for a half hour really sucks because somewhere around 25 minutes it finally goes above freezing in the car. I don't care if it is 10 degrees and snowing, I don't mind that, but no snow and just freezing I can't stand.

                          2. Sylvania, and Toledo for the most part are boring. It is great to go to Cedar Point in the summer, but that is an hour or so away.

                          3. The amount of bandwagon fans. Toledo is apparently a city so torn between Ohio State and Michigan, that more than half of the city just decides to follow whatever team is hot. Texas suddenly got a following here for a little bit, most of those people have moved on and bought either USC stuff or Florida stuff. Last year, on the night before the OSU-Texas game, I was at a high school football game. The kid next to me was wearing a Texas hat, I was wearing an Ohio State hat. He then goes on to tell me how Texas will kill Ohio State at Texas Stadium. First off, I did not know they played that game in Dallas, but second, he then proceeded to tell me that this would be worse than when "that other QB" was at Texas. I decided to ask him if he knew the name of "that other QB", and nope no answer. Now that team is Florida here. Granted it is something that happens more around the younger crowd but still...

                          4. The city of Sylvania has decided to change the speed limits on several high use roads. One road, the one by my house on one side is 45, and the other side is 35. The solution to this problem was to change the 45 to 40, but would not change the 35 claiming, and I quote the mayor of Sylvania, "Two different speeds would be too confusing". In addition, we have also changed various roads around to make them all 40 instead of 45 or 50. This is not even close to my resentment for another road in the area. One neighborhood had a road that went through it that was used by people like me in highschool to get to school. It was convenient for my neighborhood for both school, and essentially anything in most of the city of Sylvania and then Toledo. However, people in the neighborhood (with no sidewalks mind you) that the road was too dangerous for children (this was a road through a subdivision, but was 25 mph). The decision was to make the road one way. The people moved into the neighborhood completely aware of the issue, and then did that. In addition, all new roads/traffic light layouts are getting even dumber.

                          5. I live only about a mile and a half from this horrible, horrible place to the north.

                          6. The kids in my neighborhood, and their parents have no sense about them. First off, I am not talking about the 5 year old who wanders off into the street. I am talking about the 17 year olds who play hockey in the street (complete with hockey nets) and block off the street, and then refuse to move them telling you to "comeback a little bit later". In addition, one family in my little area has the habit of letting their 4 year old daughter run amok outside without any supervision. One time, their girl ran in front of my car. I stopped in time, the girl looked lost so I asked her where her house was, and got her back into her house and told her mother why the girl was a little shaken up. The mother proceeded to lecture me about how to drive and how "I could have killed her little girl" and how horrible of a person I was. I was going 10 mph below the speed limit and stopped with about 5 feet between her daughter and my car. The mother was on her cellphone at the time, and did not seem the least bit concerned that her daughter was running around outside with nobody watching.

Wow, I appear to be one angry person lol.

                            - Lack of very good public transportation.
                            - Freeway noise at night. Too many morons speeding on the freeway, then there's a billion police sirens going by. Doesn't happen too often but merits it's own gripe.
                            - No grocery store for at least two miles from here. Actually, NO stores within two miles where I live.
                            - Bad drivers.

I didn't know people down there considered Virginia the north.

I've never been to Michigan, but being in NYC or just about any place in the Tri-State area during the dog-days of summer and it'll be miserable.

Last year I was in Orlando for the AAU basketball nationals in the beginning of August, when I got home and got off the plane in Hartford it was hotter and more humid than it was in Florida all week.
