This is a huge opportunity for me. I'm currently making minimum wage, working part time. plus me and the new general manager don't really see eye to eye so my hours have dropped immensely. Stupid douche . Getting this job would easily pay for tuition, so I don't have to take out a loan. Plus I can save some money while i'm at it.

Job Interviews
Going in for a interview at a local Ford dealer here. Saw an ad. At least $500/week. Looking for salesman will train. I applied, sent my resume and they replied back. Got an interview set for 3:30 on Monday. Any tips? What should I do to prepare myself? Has anyone here worked at a car dealership if so, any tips? I'd assume they'll be asking me how i'd go about presenting a car to a customer. I have an idea of how to answer but would love to hear what some of you guys think.

At least $500 a week to start at a dealership? I don't believe that. That's 50K a year. I'm guessing that means UP TO $500 a week with commissions. Since car sales is all commission. -

Ford sucks...seriously, who buys American cars anymore? Start from that point and then analyze the salary potential. CJ boring some guy to death with talk about the Cowboys being America's team, buy American with Ford, I go to Rutgers, blah blah whatever.

As far as the interview, ask yourself any question you can think of that they would ask you.
Example: If customer A comes in asking for the Ford Focus but they show interest in the Chevy Cobalt how would you approach that situation?
Also tell these people how much you love sales and are into sales. Tell them you are the kind of individual that loves setting goals and challenges for yourself. Also tell them how competitive you are and when a goal is presented to you nothing can and will get in your way. Sales managers will eat that up.
Good luck though and hopefully you don't get anyone like me walking into the dealership. I push those bastards to the limit and some.
And EG maybe it's time to put down the controllers and pick up a calculator.Comment
