Little update

Just go back from football, it was fun. I pulled a Reggie Bush on a kick return, I called that girl to ask her but no answer, so I'm waiting on her to call me back, if that doesn't happen I'll just go ask her at school tomorrow which would be alot harder for me but I think I can pull it off.

Just be yourself. I used to have some social anxiety, especially in high school. At that age, and even into early to mid 20's people are wanting to be affirmed, noticed. So, they tend to try and dominate a conversation, making it difficult to fit in. Whatever you do, don't get caught up in trying to "out-do" people. Just be you and don't let anyone make you uncomfortable for being you.

It's good you are going through this and trying to change for the better. Many can't say that for themselves.

yeah, I was somewhat similar to you in HS, but I really opened up in College. Plus as others have said, I still only hang out with 3 people from HS and I've only just recently graduated from college... so who the heck knows what that number will be in 10 years.

Just enjoy life and let it flow. Over thinking can ruin your life. You're better than that.

btw- just a little advice from personal experience... when you're feeling a girl up and she tells you you're good at what you're doing, never respond with "I know, I've had a lot of practice." It might just kill the mood, and make you look like a man whore.

I actually wouldn't go that route. If she hasn't called you back and she has your number and knew it was you calling, then you got to start playing her correctly. Girls love attention and I think this broad thinks she has all of yours, but once you start to act indifferent they get all "Hey, is everything okay? What's wrong?" It sounds like it's actually counterproductive but the **** works, dude.

Mmk, so I have had some progress, by some peoples opinions at least. I went and talked to her at lunch and she said she might not go in the student section. When I got to the game she was sitting with her friends so I went and talked to her real quick, was like hey I made it, but by then I knew she wasn't going to do it, so I just showed it to her and left. Ended up not using it because we blew the other team out and there was no use. I might bring it out of retirement for a district game next week, but unless she approaches me about it I'm going to try to get one of my friends to hold up the sign with me. Also went and played some more football with friends, sadly one of the first times I have hung out with friends on a weekend in a long time. Which brings another aspect of my story. I try to stay away from drugs and stuff because I'm trying to make it to pro baseball, and I don't have the natural talent to go so I have to actually work at it, and I know if I go drinking every weekend then it won't help my cause. So thats the reason behind the friends thing, because basically everyone at my school does drugs or drinks, besides a few people like me, and a couple of my friends.

Wow that was a long post, basically I was overthinking things and I'm just trying to enjoy the ride now. I guess I'll update again next time something interesting happens, once again thanks for the advice.

I know it's not an easy thing but you should still attempt to hang out with people and just avoid the drugs and alcohol.

Right now in highschool it'll seem like you're a loser. I'm sure everyone will joke about it but don't let it pull you down. I know a lot of people that didn't drink when I was in college (myself included) and girls were usually impressed with that and your reasoning behind it. Besides, true friends will defend you.

If you're not gonna drink or smoke or anything then just be the DD. One of my friends doesn't drink and drives us to every party and we would never give him **** for it since we never have to worry about getting rides.

OK slight update. I don't know if this is ever happened to anyone but have you ever felt like you have been in the zone. Like the other day I was playing baseball and I made a catch and throw and I did it perfect, but I felt like someone else was using my body and I was just watching. Well I called that girl today and I was in the "zone". Usually when I call girls I lock up and I'm usually nervous. Well I called her today and after I hung up I was like "Was that me talking?" I was calm and collected. I guess I'm making progress so I would just like you guys to know that.
