Same here, I'll definitely have to hire people for any projects on my house. For my wood working class I fortunately had enough friends in there that owed me from "helping" them out in other classes so I basically never touched a machine. I probably would've sawed a finger off.

I hate building stuff, I usually get too frustrated when something doesn't fit or the holes don't align...luckily my wife enjoys it, so things will always get done.

Doing my own oil changes and other routine maintenance on the car is something I've wanted to start doing for myself. It looks like it should be pretty simple but in reality how difficult is routine maintenance?Comment

My wife and I bought a home that needed work. We've been in it for 4 years now. From pipes dropping and tearing up the toilet, to hanging things on a wall, the one rule I have learned and stick to now is...Always plan ahead and never believe yourself when you say, "This should only take about an hour."
When you give yourself more time to do it, you won't get as stressed when something goes wrong. Personally, I love doing things around the house. Like CJ mentioned, there's a lot of satisfaction in it.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Honestly, changing the oil and/or filter is very simple. Most people don't do it because it's not very expensive to take it to a store to change it and many people just don't want to deal with it (it only takes 30 minutes at most). Changing belts can be a little trickier, but not too bad. There are often "How To's" for your specific car on the internet.Comment

I used to do all my own auto maintenence (and still do on my wife's car) but I have one of those fancy schmancy hybrids now and I don't want to mess anything up.
