I'm guessing it was another one of his quotes.

School shootings are terrible events but it's still very unlikely you will be attacked at your school. But if you want to limit them even more you can do a few things:

      -Install metal detectors
      -Clear back packs
-Kick all the kids out who seem to be "acting strange"
      -Enact more regulations on guns
-Add more security guards to schools
-Institutionalize anyone with diagnosed mental issues, or others who may be "acting strange"

      And there's more....

Personally, I'm surprised more school shootings don't happen. Thankfully, they are rare but I do think they should make it harder to get guns, the rest are overkill in my opinion.

No, my sentence did. Because based upon previous things I've heard him say he comes off as a racist.

Damn, glad no one was killed (unless I've missed recent news) besides the shooter.

As others have said, I'm surprised there aren't more shootings. It's not like it takes some master plan to pull it off. As long as you have the weapon to do it, you can go through with it. It's even easier when you've reached a point where not only do you not care about others, you don't even care whether you live or die. Those are the people you have to worry about.

At around 1:15 p.m. ET, 14-year-old gunman Asa Coon, who was a student at the school, walked the halls firing a gun in each hand, Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath said.

              Couple things...

-Success Tech is one of those "lets put all the bad kids in one school and give it a positive name so we pretend that we're helping them instead of just baby sitting them until their ready for jail" type of outfits. This kid was evidently abused at home, and ridiculed by the kids for being one of those weird 'Goth' dudes in a predominantly black school.

-When asked why this school full of at-risk teens didn't have metal detectors, the Superintendent had no answer. You should have seem him on TV, it was pretty pathetic. Even more stupid, this scchool is set up in an office building right across the street from an FBI building. Youd think they would have detectors just to protect the place from snipers or something overlooking the feds next door. Incredible.

Off topic, but theres a guy at my job who seems to fit this whole profile perfectly. I won't go into detail, but he fits every shooter profile I've ever seen, and he gets into it with nearly everyone. He's sullen, standoffish, and he's just flat out weird and angry. What do you do though? He hasn't done anything to anyone yet...what can do you do really? Its easy to say these people should be reported after they do something heinous...

Yep. Then you have guys like the BTK killer who was an active church member. I really think much of this has to do with PC but rather the fact that it's nearly impossible to judge who's a risk.

Dude was depressed about something, obviously. It's a shame that he tried to take out other people with him, though.

Adding to it, that picture looks NOTHING like the kid. He was a fat kid with frizzly hair it looks like from the pictures they've shown on the news.

As a school teacher I would have to kick out about half of my students because they fall into the category of "acting strange". Remember these are teenagers we are talking about. The problem is when a student starts threatening kids with violence and you kick he/she out of the school they get picked up by another school and the trend continues.

Until parents (and teachers) take an active role in educating their kids about violence and the tragedies like what happened in Cleveland this is something that is going to always happen.

This stuff starts in the home... I blame the parents. A lot of these school shootings are happening because parents are doing a terrible job raising their kids...

Oh I agree. In most cases these just aren't preventable. Almost all of these kids are tormented and from difficult backgrounds, but there's alot of tormented kids from difficult backgrounds and it's very rare that they actually do anything this drastic but all it takes is one pissed off kid with access to a gun.

I remember this school shooting in New Orleans but it was retaliation from the streets and they got their target wasn't random.
