Ugh that's the worst, you can spend an hour looking for that sucker but it's pointless, they become completely invisible the moment they fall from your finger. Then you have to grab a new lens from the pack and your R/L ratio is off, plus the one you're still using has a different shelf life than the new one so you say screw it and throw that one out too.

So yeah.....what a riot that was. Within an hour of being there, 3 huge arguments broke out, 3 people were crying. I was just sitting there on the couch head buried into my phone.

Looked at my wife side ways and said see, this is why I don't like it when you all get together because the same BS always happens. In 2 weeks, I get to go through the same BS again for Thanksgiving.

In laws are terrible. They are fine when you are just boyfriend and girlfriend, but as soon as you get married, their TRUE colors come out and you see how they really act on a normal basis.

I use the term thug if a player is acting like a thug. There's no racial intent behind it at all and to suggest so is ridiculous. Richie Incognito is a thug. Logan Mankins is a thug. Cortland Finnegan is a thug. Ndamukong Suh is a thug. Jared Allen is a thug. Albert Haynesworth was a thug. Milan Lucic is a thug. Zdeno Chara is a thug. Matt Barnes is a thug. Patrick Kaleta is a thug. John Scott is a thug. Chris Pronger was a thug. Blake Griffin is a thug. Kobe Bryant is a thug. Bruce Bowen was a thug. Bill Laimbeer was a thug. Zinedine Zidane is a thug. Asamoah Gyan is a thug. Luis Suarez is a thug. And many, many, many more. Don't wanna be called a thug? Don't act like it, then.

I find it annoying and infuriating that some people have taken a word that literally can apply to anyone who acts like it and have pigeon-holed it into thinking that the use of the word automatically implies racial meaning.

As for beanings in baseball, they usually happen when someone's acting like a punk. That's usually the majority of the time it happens. Every sport has their way of dealing with **** like that. Hard fouls in basketball, fights in hockey, etc. Yeah it's dumb but it happens. And quite frankly, every other sport is inundated with so much bull**** on a game-to-game basis that if beanings and some whiny players get their panties in a bunch every once in a while is the worst thing about baseball, then I'll take that any day of the week.

Pitchers who beam the ball at batters are bigger punks in my book. Worst that can happen to them is an ejection, since everyone and their mother stops the batter from retaliating. What's the worst that could happen to the batter? All because a teams feelings got hurt? **** out of here with that bull****.

I think you are overestimating a bit how much it hurts to get hit by a baseball...

Eh, caught a ball on the chin this year and it drew blood. Wasn't even in the 80s.

On the chin yes, it hurts.

When someone is thrown at, it's at their back.

That may be the intent, but a fraction of an inch off in the release point and that's at the head or knees.

Cmon, I know you pitched so you know that's an exaggeration.

A fraction of an inch in release is the difference between knee high fastball versus a belt high fastball. Not the small of the back versus the head....

You would have to vastly screw up your delivery to go from the back to the head.

The only pitcher I can remember head hunting was Pedro.

It's not an exaggeration at all in my mind. Maybe a fraction of an inch isn't the right way to describe it. A fraction of a second difference in release point explains it better.

Just as you say, head hunting isn't an every game occurrence. Yet, lots of hitters get hit in the head each year. Pinpoint accuracy is tough as a pitcher and it's easy to miss a target by a foot

Fair enough, I still disagree that missing by a fraction of a second in release takes a pitch from the back to the head but your overall point is taken.

Head-hunters are different. Those get dealt with very seriously if/when it happens.

Usually the "message pitches" are in the back or thigh.

Better than an ******* in the NFL going low at a guy's knees, ruining his career a la Matt Slauson on Brian Cushing.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a batters #1 job is to get on base, right? How are you getting some measure of revenge by doing that job for him? And isn't it pretty selfish of a pitcher to put his team in a bad spot because his feelings are hurt?

"I'm so mad at you I'm going to do your job for you" just doesn't make much sense to me.

It doesn't happen when a runner getting on base is a concern.

And it rarely happens because of the pitchers feelings.
