Fireworks can still be heard inside of the house and will scare the dog regardless.
The dog can't run off when it's inside. It will also have a bed or couch to hide behind.

I posted this because I saw my Facebook feed blowing up on Sunday with people trying to find dogs that ran off during fireworks.

The crazy part about my one dog Chloe(that's scared of thunder and fireworks).....is that before I rescued her from my neighbor(they didn't give a crap about their dogs....her and their other dog would spend all day and most of the night on my property with my dogs)....she was a complete outside dog.
That was for about 8 years.
I don't know how she did it.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

In the past 5 days there have been 2 serious fatal car accidents at an intersection a mile from here, I go that way all the time and now I'm scared to drive through there at all

I got stuck in the detour from the one a few days ago, it was the first time I'd ever seen an "emergency scene ahead" sign. Today was my laundry run and when I got home it was the exact time the fire engine drove by en route to the accident, I was coming from a different direction but it coincided with a time I might typically be at that intersection and it's messing with me.

I really wish people would limit their distractions when behind the wheel, it seems like people don't fully understand the destruction 60 mph vehicles can do. I feel like I'm rambling so I'll just say drive safe guys, seriously

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Great......ppl next door decide to build a deck right up against the fence(which was obviously used for privacy before) Now it's basically useless since their deck is a couple feet off the ground,so anytime they're on their deck, they can see everything on other side of fence, including a clear view halfway into the house!

They got a dog too,and it loves to bark when it sees people. So now the dog has an even better view of people to bark at.

So now for those awkward neighborly conversations anytime I step foot on the driveway or backyard......

If only they'd build a wall on the side of the deck. Maybe it's just me,but if I'm relaxing outside or having bbq or something on my deck, last thing I wanna do is see multiple strangers on their decks/yards like 20 feet away from me,right at eye level.

That's what I miss about my parents house. We had neighbors, but everyone had bigger lots. With our 2 acres, neighbors were never close enough for that.

I know people who are on both ends of this. Some people live so far,you can't even see your neighbors from your house. But other people, you can see basically the entire blocks backyard from your own backyard(city limit has fence can only be built 5 feet high, and nobody really has trees either).

I'd hate living at a house like that. You go into your backyard, and you can see your blocks backyards and the backyards(along with seeing straight into all the houses) of the houses in the block behind yours. No sidewalks in the area, houses just all bunched up so close to each other, I'd hate to live in area like that, but that's the newer trend it seems like. Trying to maximize the amount of space possible by having no sidewalks, very little yard space, in order to fit the most houses possible.

At my mom's old house you could see the neighbor's bathroom window from our living room. During the summer months when the windows were open, the guy who lived there would also have the blinds or curtains on the bathroom window open and wouldn't bother closing them when he was using the bathroom.

                            1) When people go to a baseball game and don't actually sit in their assigned seat. Was at the Blue Jays/Royals game yesterday and went up to our seats and a couple of people were in them. So I say nicely, we have 23 and 24. They kind of look at each other and go "uhh, umm..." There were like 4 people total, so obviously they were just sitting wherever they wanted so they were together. They finally got up when they realized we weren't going to just sit in the seats next to them. Conveniently enough, those people showed up a few minutes later.

A couple innings in, they moved again because more people showed up who wanted their seats. I guess some huge group had a family reunion and instead of telling everyone where the seats were, they thought they'd just sit wherever they wanted the whole game.

                            2) When people (and their kids) get up and down all damn game. I went to watch some baseball. Not to have to get up 3 times IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INNING for you and/or your kids to go sit next to someone else or go buy food. What happened to the days when you could only get out of/go back to your seat between innings and pitching changes? I missed the entire bottom of the 3rd. Buehrle needed 6 pitches and the people around us felt the need to send an army down our row in and out during that time. Common sense and courtesy people! It can't be that hard. If you want to waste $50+ on tickets and food to walk around, go stand in some general admission area out behind the stadium; not where people interested want to watch.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

Not sitting in the assigned seat thing is annoying, especially when people don't have any intention of ever going to the seat they paid for. If someone comes who is supposed to sit there, the person just moves a few seats down and keep doing that until nobody ever shows up for a seat they're sitting in.

The ushers usually check tickets before a game starts to make sure you're in the right section, but people obviously get past them so often. That's the awkward moment when you go to a game, and see someone sitting in your seat, and then have to confront them and get them to move, and they move over slightly, so now you're stuck sitting right next to the person who just stole your seat before.

As for the people who get up all the time..that's the annoying part. There does need to be some sort of between inning rule where you're only allowed to leave your seat between innings. And I see some people leave their seat, and not come back till like a few innings later, and then leave again after that. It's like, what's the point of attending the game,if you're not even gonna be in your seat for 60% of the game...
