      Boston is another one I can think of. People outside would say "Boss-ton", people from there say "baws-ton".
      I said these the exact same in my head.

        Those are regional dialects. It's not mispronunciation, just how people talk differently in different areas. Like how Canadians say "a-boot" and Americans say "a-bout"

            yep, 1st thing I noticed when I moved to New England years ago is that people out here say some words funny. Some examples:

            Water = watah

            Harbor = habah

            yep = ayup (where they get the "A" from is beyond me.)

            Lobster = lobstah

            chowder = chowdah

            beer = beah

            It is like they don't ever pronounce the r at the end of words and always add an ah at the end of the words that end with a R.

                Point proven...the things that you brought up are just like that. They only happen in certain areas and that's it. It's an accent/regional dialects nothing more, nothing less.

                  It sounds more like "a-boat" in Canada. Even up in ImTellinTim land I've heard it said that way before.

                    Ever since I found out people of San Francisco don't want to hear SF called "Frisco", I've tried to make it a point to refer to it that way lol

                        I swear I've never heard anyone say it like this or "aboot" before. It's only ever been about (rhymes with pout).

                          lol exactly. I've heard "aboot" before,but that was on some Canadian TV show I was watching and the people from there are from eastern canada(Nova Scotia). Never heard it mentioned differently here.

                          Some words I can think of that I've heard pronounced differently in Canada vs other places are:
                          kilometer(some say "ki-lo-me-ter" others say "ki-lom-it-er")
                          mature(some say "ma-chure" others say "ma-tu-wer")

                              I don't hear a lot aboot from Canadians. I hear "A" at the end of sentences and a lot of "sorry" as well.

                                lol, sorry from nice people sure,but Canada obviously has those rude jerks too.

                                To me at least, saying "eh",at times is slightly like a replacement of "huh". Like when people might say "I know huh?", people here more often say "I know eh?"
