The great thing about going to a game "by yourself" is that you sit with hundreds or thousands of people you have something in common with.

If you can't have fun there then I don't know what to tell you.

I went to a World Series game in 2014 and a division series game this season by myself. It's as fun as you make it, but I got to know people around me and had a great time. It wasn't ideal, but I still enjoyed myself.

Eh, it depends on the game. I went to a Knicks playoff game by myself and it was great, but that was a game where everyone is really into it, and even if I was with people I'd still be talking to and high fiving strangers. But like a random regular season baseball game? No interest in going to that by myself. Nothing to do with being insecure, just doesn't sound fun.

I've gone a few times and it was ok. I go to games to watch the game not to socialize so it's not much different than going with the wife.

I've done it once in my life, and it was after a job interview. Loved it. I actually interacted with the people around me. I'd prefer going with others, though.

I love going to movies by myself, though. Unless it's with a date, I actually prefer it.

Movies for me too. You aren't going to be talking to them anyways.

For sporting events you can find single seats on StubHub for really cheap because someone got stuck with an extra ticket.

Otherwise known as the grocery store.

I love the grocery store for the point of it, but hate having to manage the people that fill it.

Just be aware of other people is all I ask. If you don't know what you want or are looking for, don't guard the area. Step back, let me grab the thing I know I want, and then you can go back to your search.

Which is a frustrating part of grocery store aisles(or really just aisles of any store). They're made to fit people who are actually walking at the edge of the aisles. Not made for someone who decides to stand/park their cart in the middle of an aisle, and just stand there, with no way for anyone else to go around them. And even worse are in those aisles where stores have a stand in the aisle itself, so that alone blocks half the width, and even though some people see you with a shopping cart coming down the aisle, they decide to go in your way instead of just step aside(since they have a basket, not a cart) and force you to back up with the cart.

People don't do this in your area?

I'm in redneck country so it's fairly common (along with the screaming kid that the mom is annoyed at and doesn't really want to deal with).
