Dogs are highly territorial, he was just marking his spot all over the places he smelled your dogs at. I personally have a you are not bringing your mut over to my house rule. I have a feeling he will have to replace that entire cushion. Just not the outside you have to worry about, it is in the inside of the cushion that is the main problem.

    Good luck.

So I just moved into my new place and bought some really nice furniture. My favorite piece is this couch I bought which was $2,000. It's a twill fabric sectional and the focal point of my place. I have two dogs who love to be on the couch so I went ahead and when I have them I put sheets down with blankets and take off the couch back cushions so they don't make a mess and harm the furniture. I've had this couch all of two weeks and it's pristine and not a speck of dirt on it. I've sat on this couch less than 10 times.

Enter: my mom's dog. So my mom invites herself over today and brings her dog. Her dog enters and immediately starts to growl at my dogs. Being a good guest I put my own dogs in a bathroom/closet area so her dog doesn't feel too uncomfortable and we don't have any drama with the dogs. After I put the dogs into the bathroom/closet area I walk back out. I start talking to my mom a few minutes and I notice some liquid near the base of the sectional. I smell it and can't really tell if it's urine or just water. I wipe it up and it appears to be urine but there isn't that much and it's on the floor. Not a big deal.

So I sit on the sectional and immediately sit in a wet spot. I look at the blanket I sat on and see some urine. Not a large amount, but some is there. I think I'll just get a paper towel and dab the urine off the blanket. Then I lift up the two blankets and almost faint. Her dog unleashed about a half gallon of piss on the chaise side cushion of my sectional. The cushion is just drenched. My clothes are wet from urine. My brand new couch that I've spent WEEKS working for (overtime hours) and HOURS scouring the internet and visiting stores to find the couch I wanted. Now it's a piss couch. It's forever the couch that bitch dumped a half gallon of piss on, right in the area I would lay/sit the most. This is my new spot. Everything is perfect...until now.

I've never wanted to kill a dog until now. I know it's just a dog and doesn't know better, but I still feel this way. I acted nice towards the dog and said I wasn't mad at it. I lied.

I've worked my butt of doing OT and haven't even had time to really enjoy the couch until tonight. And now I can't. I'm livid mixed in with depressed.

Let's hope the upholstery guy can work a miracle on Tuesday.
This would've been me to that Dog if I were you

Upholstery service coming Monday and yep it went through to the actual cushion part. Called West Elm and I can't buy just the cushion part, it would have to be the entire chaise piece. I would have to buy the material and then pay somebody to have the cushion reupholstered. lol

You can't flip over the cushion on a chaise brahs.

Re-reading this hurts my heart again.

It's like a new car that somebody rear ends. Sure you can fix it but you know the car had previous damage and will never be the same.

I worked for a carpet/upholstery cleaning company and I also do laminate and some carpet installation and as far as the subject of animal urine goes I can tell you that once it settles into fabric or carpet padding it's gonna stay there. I've seen it first hand COUNTLESS times.
Urine remover for the most part is like a placebo effect to where a company will tel you it'll be removed but it's really just a gimmick and covered up for a short time.
And the company I worked for told me upfront when I started it's just a gimmick product. But hey, like I said I've seen it a ton of times but
I hope it works for you though, sounds like you made quite the investment on quality furniture and I feel your pain.

I'm wondering why your mom didn't tell you what her dog did when you came back in the room and just let you sit in that stuff. Did she think you wouldn't notice ? Was she hoping you wouldn't sit there and wouldn't notice until she was gone and had you believing it was your own dogs that did it ? I find it odd she wouldn't say anything as soon as you walked back into the room.

When people make an argument and end it with "and if you disagree, your opinion doesn't matter." Look, I don't care how passionately you feel about something, but completely shutting down any disagreement is appalling and unwise. Nothing would ever move forward in the world if it wasn't for smart and principled discourse. And when someone sits there and says "I'm right, you're wrong, shut up" before the other side of the argument even has a chance to say anything you ruin any chance you ever had to learn and further inform your own thoughts and opinions.

Well it's drying and I'm not too optimistic about how it's going to look when it dries.

I might legit buy a new half of the sectional. I'm not having this piss stained sectional. If it were a few drops I wouldn't care. It's like a 16" diameter in the middle of the cushion.

                        Rage is coming back...

Depends on who the two teams are, if it's a bitter fierce rivalry, and one team has been on the losing end and was the underdog to win the game, then I think it's fair game, hard fought or not, especially if your team is the top team in the league.

I have a cousin who is a die hard Seahawk fan that comes dressed in 12th man pride crap at Christmas time. Yesterday, for work, he had to wear an ARod jersey. I really don't care if the Pack won by 3 or they won by 28 pts, you don't think he's in for some ribbing at our house for Xmas after the the calls and the way things went for the Seahawks in the recent past with this rivalry.

Packers were 3 point underdogs at home.

In the immortal words of Bart Scott........ Can't wait!

If they sold a cushion for a couple hundred I would. Unfortunately I'd have to buy half the couch which is $1,000 so that isn't an option.

The upholstery cleaning did a good enough job that I can't see it or smell it. I don't know if it'll hold up long term but it was only $69 to get it cleaned. Sadly I just have to chalk this up as an L and know that spot is forever piss stained to the core.
