Why the **** are people so argumentative anymore. You disagree with them and they argue. You ****ing agree with them and they still argue. This is why we can't have nice things, people!

I may have mentioned this one in this thread previously (it tends to grind on me right around this time every year):
People on my ignore list getting quoted. Most of the time I'm instantly reminded of why I ignored them.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
The constant need to tear down what other people enjoy.
"Hey, I really enjoy this"
"Yeah, but here's everything wrong with it"
"I don't really care about that stuff"
"But it's bad"
"Not to me"
"Well it is to everyone else"

YouTube Ads.
It's growing to be an increasing trend where these ads last over a minute up to 1.5-2 minutes that I cannot skip through.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Agreed and maybe it's just me but when you try to move the video to the end it sometimes locks up. About 75% of the time it resets and you watch it, 20 % it locks up for me and 5% it works and it just moves on to video.
Needless to say, my ability to just move the cursor and skip and ad is almost like hitting a scratch off winner ($5)

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I'm sure research has been done, but I can't imagine forcing someone to watch a 30 second ad if more effective than a straight to the point 5-10 second ad. I don't mind movie trailers, I've caught myself watching the entire trailer if it looked interesting.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I feel the same way about longer ads...if you can't grab me in 5-10 seconds, I'm reading on my iPad or taking a bathroom break and not seeing the rest of it anyway.PSN: JWGoNDComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Things that grind my gears lately...
1. People who don't shovel their sidewalks. I don't care that it's not your property, be a grownup and clear it off within ~24 hours bro. Unless you're super old and weak (see #2).
2. Old people. Like, for example, when you come home from work to find your 90+ year old lady neighbor peering through the living room blinds cooing at your dog.
3. People who are just too picky about everything. Not every detail is a life and death scenario. Some big picture thinking, please. Good enough is often plenty ok.
4. People [idealogues] who LIVE to battle other people's opinions online. Can't we all just get along and stop all the bickering and arguing about who killed who? But, seriously why do we not even acknowledge a common set of facts anymore? I hate hate hate that facts seem to be so fungible and people are so damn gullible...anything it takes to support/confirm the opinion they already held.
5. People at the grocery store who take too long to figure out which product they want when you need to get into that same area. You either come off as rude for 'excuse me' or you pretend like you're looking at something else in the aisle until they mercifully leave.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

the worst is when you lay back at a safe distance to wait patiently, and they give you the half turn mean mug anyway

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Speaking of annoying grocery moments:
-When you're in the produce area and have your cart by one fruit or vegetable, and no matter what it is, that happens to be the one section people want to get at. There can be like 3-4 diff kinds of apples, you put your cart by 1 of them, and then in next 15 seconds, like 2-3 people all have to get that exact kind of apple your cart is now blocking.
-Since some people are going up/down an aisle and people outside the aisles are going left/right, there always seems to be those close encounter "t-bone moments". People really have to treat it like driving. If you're passing by an aisle, make sure nobody is leaving before you move your cart right past it. And if you're leaving an aisle, make sure nobody is coming from either side before leaving it.
-As for aisle space, I hate when stores put a display in an aisle itself. Regular aisles can barely fit two shopping carts side by side as it is, but having a display in the aisle now takes up half that space for part of the aisle, and of course that leads to you trying to go past it, but someone coming from the other way trying to go past it too so you're at a standstill, and someones behind you so you can't go backwards and give the person infront of you space to pass.Comment
