A basketball game is only 2 and a half hours, and I always see people randomly show up at right before halftime. Just stay home at that point.

That's what happens when "suits" get tickets. Leafs are famous for that. Tickets so expensive, most people who can afford them are business people. They show up late, leave early, so you see lowerbowl half empty for alot of the game.

This could also be people sitting up in the upper deck and have been watching seats for the half or check online and see they are available. Then move down from the upper deck.

Quick anecdote.

I was just out of high school and going out with a girl for about a year. On our anniversary, I decided to surprise her and take her to a Carolina Hurricanes game, this was the year after they won the cup...I didn't tell her though as I wanted her to see it when she got there (never went to a hockey game and her family never went anywhere).

I didn't know a thing about Raleigh and didn't get directions (because I'm an idiot) so I drove about 1.5 HRs around Raleigh before I finally figured out how to get to and inside the arena. When we finally took our seats, it was midway thru the 3rd period.

I spent $90 on 10 minutes of hockey. The bright spot was I didn't pay for parking.

Put the damn phone down. Take a picture every now and then if you want but you don't have to record and capture every second. That's what your damn memory is for.

An add on to that...I hate watching games on TV and the feed switches to the TV camera zooming in on someones phone recording the action. Just show the play, I don't care if some fan is recording the action, I don't wanna see how it looks on their phone.

And speaking of TV feed switching, it's annoying when they switch during a play to show a replay. Sometimes you miss a free throw in basketball or a quick play in a game because they're too busy showing a replay of some other event during a time when a replay isn't necessary. Show replays during dead balls or breaks in play, not try to squeeze in a 15 second replay into the 5 seconds of break you actually have.

Eh, I am really into photography, especially sports, so I usually end up taking a ton of pictures, but this is with a legit camera not my phone.

Also at concerts, I usually record only my favorite song or two when the performer plays it.

Can't stand all the amateur couch NFL draft experts. They watch a 5 minute youtube video and read a couple scouting reports and all of the sudden they know better than NFL scouts do.

Ok, Kehlis, I'll bite. You seem to like confrontation around here. I respect that, as you seem like a reasonable guy. This thread is full of irrational things that grind people's gears, mine for today happens to be that everyone has a mostly uneducated opinion about draft picks. I'm not saying every scout is 100% correct, or that every casual fan is 100% wrong. It's certainly ok to have an opinion, but to claim "bad pick" with next to zero knowledge happens to grind my gears. Is that ok?

Everything's okay in a gear grinder thread

Greater point though is that it's just as contradictory to claim good pick and agree with scouts with little to know knowledge on someone as it is to disagree and say bad pick.

On this day we are all in the same shoes and should expect to have differing opinions.

Definitely. I'm in the camp of "wait a couple years before reacting", so I really don't get up or down during the draft. Everyone's a wildcard in my book. I guess that's why the immediate assumptions kind of grind my gears.

It's annoying when I'm in a local team thread and guys are saying a pick is bad because they had a player ranked lower by position in their personal mock.

Like a give a **** about the pro mocks let alone some rando pretending to be in the know
