What was the reason they were short staffed that night? I'm assuming you don't know the answer since you only received a form reply.
I can only tell you what happened when I was in line. The person in front of me paid with a card, and when he was handed back his card the drive-thru window never opened again for ten minutes (no exaggeration on that time frame). He was handed two food bags, and left.

I arrived at the window, the employee said "$9.51," and I asked if the food was almost ready because we were going to be late for something and didn't expect to wait a half hour in line. The guy checked, and said it just got started. He explained that weekends were busier, they were short-staffed (look I get it, it's Mother's Day), and if coming on weekends we'll have to plan ahead. I asked them to cancel my order, apologized (as did he), and drove off. Missed the train as I was sprinting up the steps, waving at the conductor 30 feet from the train (of course, he has a schedule and doesn't give a hoot).

Personally, I should just blame myself. We refer to ourselves sometimes as the "cloud family" because we tend to bring bad luck to places that we go, even if it's just poor weather conditions.

The mishandling I was referring to is regarding the idleness of the staff. If you are backed up five cars with no response to anybody during that time (including the driver in front of us, mind you), you act on that. Sit-in restaurants and barber shops have no trouble alerting you how long a wait is estimated to be (imagine if you asked how long the wait was and they just shrugged their shoulders lol). Even when I call Kaiser or IT for a company, if they are trying to resolve an issue every five seconds they will remind you they are actively searching, etc. It seems like a simple standard.

I can't ask them to redesign the drive thru for cars to pull away, but they can inform their customers of the time it will take, and if possible ask that car to move to the side and park to wait for his food. I very easily would have left way earlier had I known this was going to happen, but I didn't even have the option.

Anyway, as I said, that particular restaurant location is notoriously slow. I'm sure they're rather understaffed more often than not, and it's unfortunate. I have other foods of choice if that's the case, though. I'm sure many others feel the same.

People who know me know that I won't react outwardly to things like this. That was my dad's job. He was the one who demanded a refund from a movie theater after seeing Broken Flowers he also refused to pay a taxi driver who wouldn't take his credit card for a < $5 trip from the airport to the FedEx location (I only got nervous because the guy probably had a gun haha). I couldn't care less about this kind of stuff. I just move on. I want to try and help these guys here in every way but apply for a job there. That's all. Most of all, I really felt bad for my mom because I was the one who ushered to go there in the first place.

It took 25 minutes to get his food at a fast food restaurant, especially in a drive-thru. I don't care if you're "short staffed." It's not In-N-Out, the volume simply isn't there at a Carl's Jr for anyone's order to take anywhere near 25 minutes regardless of their supposed circumstance.
Being short staffed isn't a good excuse for any company, but the reality of the service industry is that it does exist and can't be discounted.

Persecute as you want, and I'm not even saying it isn't fair, but unless we know the circumstances of what was actually going on it's pretty unfair to judge.

Very true. That's only why I was hoping we would be informed. Had I known it would take even half that long, I wouldn't have gone. That's all. One could argue that they want to make sure they get your money, but low and behold they didn't even get my money anyway.

I don't think I'm "owed" anything as a customer. I simply like being valued, but furthermore I have a choice in where I spend my money. They won't get mine for a while simply on an unreliability basis.

One down the street from me is almost always empty whenever I look. I went inside once so I could use an offer I had on my phone and it was like a freakin' barren wasteland. Weird.

Food's good though. I always got their double western bacon cheeseburger when I ate it more frequently.

I usually don't mind waiting 10-15 mins for food, but 25 minutes though...nah, that's no good. I wouldn't be upset or angry, I'd just walk up to the cashier and tell them to cancel the order at that point.

Don't even blame Blzer for feeling like that.

I was fine with doing that as well, but I was in the drive-thru sandwiched between cars, and not at the window. Couldn't tell them if I wanted to. I wasn't about to have my mom go out of our car and approach somebody about it heh.

I think that if we took a poll the overwhelming majority would say that 30 minutes for fast food is way too long. It's sort of understood that fast food is...well, fast. On the other hand, stuff happens and sometimes places get crushed with orders, understaffed, etc. In those cases, I think it is on the service provider to inform you when you are ordering that it will take longer than usual...let me make the decision to wait or just move on.

Regional snack brands. For me, its Its Utz. Basically never able to have my favorite snack of all time, their Sourdough Specials since they're only on the East Coast. Snyder's Sourdough is absolute trash in comparison.

                            Crappy service from a waiter/waitress.

Last night my parents, my sister, and I went out to dinner to celebrate my sister's job promotion. Now we went to a restaurant that we've been to often and have always received excellent service.

Last night though, nothing went right. From screwing up our drink orders, to taking forever to take our order, to messing up our order, to passing by us 5 times when we tried to get our check, and finally passing by me 3 times when trying to pay the check.

I understand that the waiters/waitresses are human and mistakes are going to happen, but to mess up every step of the way was just infuriating.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Our office just started taking cards for property tax payments (only online, not in person) and in person at the DMV office that we administer. The main sticking point was always laws that don't allow us to pass any kind of transaction fees directly to the taxpayer. They finally decided to just eat the cost - which ends up being passed on to the taxpayer through their property taxes...

The no cash thing just doesn't make any sense at all. There are ways to prevent the chance of fraud surrounding cash that aren't "we don't take cash, sorry."
