Use an AOL email address, it will show them that you are real old school. Seriously, HR people don't care what service you use. I know a lot of people who don't have a gmail and simply use their internet provider email address. Putting way too much thought into an email address name, something they are just going to skip anyway to look at your experience, then going to skip back up and look for a phone number. Also proper names only work if you don't have a common name. My name is VERY COMMON, so that wouldn't work.

I've seriously never updated my email in ages. I don't got a problem with it, I use it for my google account on my phone/tablet, just don't want to come off looking too outdated with it(Hotmail isn't AOL level of outdated, but given that hotmail isn't really a thing anymore, it could become that way in future).Comment

People better get used to numbers and even symbols because eventually “normal” usernames are going to get harder to come by unless something changes.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Don't really have a preference on which one I use. Would it be better getting gmail or outlook for my new professional email? Just wanna see what others think if they were another company, employer or someone similar corresponding with that email address. GMail would either have a number or start with "[email protected]" while outlook would be "[email protected]".
Everyone I know rips on using numbers in email addresses. Even gamertags they rip on people who put numbers in them. And back in school, teachers told people it looks "more professional" using proper names and not ones with numbers in it. Just depends on what you're used to seeing I guess. Seeing something like "[email protected]" are types of formats I've always been told to avoid.
Unfortunately gmail doesn't let you use that
Even the example you used is good to use.

I mean as long as you’re not using something like “[email protected]” then you’re fine.

lol but really, I guess it won't matter much. I'll probably "reserve" some just for sake of having it, gmail specifically, in off chance it does get taken in the future and I want it.Comment

Static electricity.
I hate the feeling/sensation of being shocked.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

If you’re wearing earbuds (specifically the ones that come with iphones), and you’re pulling laundry out of the dryer, getting a nice static shock through the earbuds is quite the sensation.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
