I agree with this as someone who really likes Victorian and mostly English period pieces like North and South. It's nice to have a "lived in" world aside from just off the wardrobe rack clothes. Tom Hardy in Taboo is a good example.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Period films where everyone looks like they just came out of JC Penney with their new clothes. Must have been really nice that everyone in all times (except the present) had monies to always have pristine clothing. Of course this wasn't the case and it is due many times to productions being cheap and not treating clothes to look, you know, "normal". Same thing with cars, everyone apparently went to the car wash after their jobs everyday.
That's a bit more understandable, many times cars used in films are rentals/borrowed and adding dirt/effects to these cars can be costly, time consuming and the owner/s might object to their antique cars getting a bit "messed up" just for effect. Still, I don't care, do better.
Can tell who put up real work for production when their "historical" cars looked like they actually have been in the real world.
Something else I don't mind but kinda laugh at is how they'll use trendy modern styles when the actual style of the time has largely been lost to history. Like on Vikings, all the guys have undercuts and hipster tattoos, lol.
Also, do you ever feel like they were kinda lazy in the 60s/70s when doing historical re-enactments? I've seen so many WWII movies from that period where the actor's hair around the ears/nape is just passably short enough. Mildly amusing when watching though.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
People who walk into a grocery store, take two steps and just stand there in the way.
People who pull out of their driveway and are clearly still in driveway mode. As in: doing like 10 MPH and distracted for the first half mile or so.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
So many pull out of their driveway not even thinking to slowly do so incase someone is walking infront of the driveway. Pedestrians always have right of way in those situations. Even worse when people pull out, stop on the sidewalk, and block people from walking. I get they're doing so since they might not be able to see the road before pulling out, but again, there's people walking. They now can't walk infront or behind your car.My local grocery store does that too. As soon as you walk in, produce. It's my least fave part of shopping, but I also get it out of the way first. Once I move onto the next section (usually the bread/bakery part of the store) it gets much less crowded.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Uber drivers that ask you "where are you going"? I'm sorry, didn't you read before you click accept or whatever? And they don't need me to answer (they don't seem to input the information anywhere, is it a conversation starter?), I think its some device to filter out possible robbers or something? Don't know.
Just put the address on the thingy and follow the directions, don't bother me. You ask me where I'm going that's 1 star off right of the bat.

They like to confirm they got the right address. Quite often people give them the wrong address in the app and it’s helpful for them to confirm.Comment

Also, it's nice for them to know you're going to ABC Plumbing instead of 12345 XYZ Freeway. It's much easier to look for business signage than an address.

Ah see, I have to suffer for those that enter their addresses incorrectly. So how about those that don't ask where I'm going? Not double checking for you eh? Still 1 star off.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

I hope you are kicked out of a car with extreme prejudice if you treat people like that.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Make sense both of your explanation, but I need my Uber drivers like the one that time that was bit too perfect. He didn't asked me where I was going (of course), he didn't asked me if I wanted to a specific station (he was just playing a local classic music station that like only 3 other people listen to, lots of violins, very relaxing), as a matter of fact he didn't talked to me at all. It was like I wasn't in the car. Kind of eerie in a wayOSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
This is a statement made by an entitled *******. They are trying to help you and make sure that you get where you're going (without having to do a U-turn or something) and your response is to give them 1-star and jeopardize their employment? **** that.
I hope you are kicked out of a car with extreme prejudice if you treat people like that.
