    Interesting.

YouTube Premium is just YouTube with a few extra features. No ads, ability to listen with the screen darkened, ability to download videos for viewing offline, YT Music included.

I didn't realize an ad blocker could stop the in-video ads. Good to know, thanks.

Then there're the sites that either don't work properly when you're using an ad blcoker or literally force you to turn off your ad blocker and then bombard you with ads ... looking at you weather.com

I'll sometimes let a YouTube video play on my phone while I'm in the shower, and of course right when I pop in it seems a five-minute ad pops up instead of one of the ten-second ads.

Reminds me of "birtday" with no "h" sound. It's like nails on a chalkboard.

I've only heard it in the joking phrase: "Make me a sammich, woman!" I never thought that people actually used that word outside of that phrase though, and I hope no one uses it in that demeaning way either.

Sammich is part of the Black Vernacular so that’s where that originated.

Is that a fact or a guess?

Occasionally I like looking into the origins of words and will research their etymology. When I saw your post, I wanted to learn more. All I could find is that it originated in the 1940s.

When people do not smile in pictures, especially sports-related pictures. I am guilty of it when I was in high school sports and had I stayed in school, I would have done it in my college football picture.. but I wish I would have smiled all the way back when.

I think the modern usage of it became a thing in mid 2000s message board lingo. It's from the same generation as "wait..what," "I can haz?" and stupid **** like that. Basically talking from the point of view of a cat meme.

People used it before, but not as much as in the past 10 years or so.

People dont always like their smile or just smile "weird".

You'd rather just have your normal face looking at a camera than a face you dont know exactly how it'll look/turn out.

It doesn't help when the photographer badgers people to smile more even if they're already smiling.

I'll always love my high school track picture where I'm giving this big Hollywood smile. And I'm not a good smiler, but I nailed this one. Big smile, hair all gelled up. Back when I was all young and pretty, lol.

I have terrible teeth so I never smile. I actually avoid having my picture taken altogether if I can help it.
