Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
A food item that used to cost $10 is now like $15 because of "inflation"(aka companies raking in record profits)
But that same $15 item if you order in person is like $20 on the app. A 40% coupon on $20, factoring in a $3 service fee and $2 delivery fee is still $17.
I don't get why more places don't just do it themselves. Not the delivery part, I'm sure they'd rather just "outsource" it to a delivery app, but even just pickups. Just have your own menu online with all your prices and let people order it for pickup only if that's easier for you.
The amount of places in 2023 that still don't have menu prices online and their only "menu" is a grainy pic from 4 years ago on google reviews is sad.
Only positive is that the money I got back I ended up finding somewhere better with a cheaper option, so I ended up getting more food for less money than if I got the right order.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
The way some of these apps work, you only get a discount if you order for delivery. I only ever do it if it's actually worth it (ie it's cheaper even after delivery than if I call that place directly and pick it up)Comment

In-game interviews. In general, but specifically with people who aren't involved with the game.
Watching the Tennessee-Stanford CWS game. It's tied at 4 in the 6th and they have the NCAA president in to just drone on and on and on. The announcers completely stop calling the game to talk with him.
Of course, they cut him off as soon as it's time to go to commercial.Comment

Game updates/Downloadable Content on consoles
Pretty much addicted to Crusader Kings 3.. a major title update was released and it totally destroyed my gamesave. Can't roll the update back, which you can on PC version.
$125, now the game is unplayable.

Paradox puts out DLC at an amazing pace. It's why even though I love 4X and strategy games I haven't touched Stellaris in a while. I tend to play CRPGs like Wasteland, Divinity, Pathfinder and the like. Couldn't imagine having to deal with the patches and game breaking bugs on a console where you can't tinker with things.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
I went from owning a Toshiba smart TV - which if you pushed any button on the remote the slightest bit it would turn the TV on, so if you would go to grab it for any reason and accidently pushed the volume up button with even minimal pressure it would turn the thing on, not really a fan - to owning a TCL TV, which only turns on if you hit the power button and hold it down with full pressure for a full 2 seconds or so, and often only works on the second try.
First world problems, but so dumb to me.Comment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
There's a guy on my street who is obsessed with his leaf blower. Doesn't matter the reason, he'll just go outside and start using the leaf blower all around his property for no reason.
I get if you mowed the lawn or there's lots of leaves or so on, but this guy just goes and uses the leafblower for like 30 minutes at a time over the same few spots. What is he trying to blow away? What's the rationale behind this?
Even if your property has stones, twigs, grass clippings, leaves, 30 minutes basically just up and down your driveway and then randomly on the sidewalk and curb before going back on your driveway and doing it again, I just don't get what's up with him.Comment

I absolutely do this every day to every other day and just clean up around the property. Just for fun... no other reason. My dog also loves to chase me around and we get caught up for around 10 minutes playing, lol.

That man is meticulous about his landscaping. He nearly has a panic attack during the fall of the year when the trees start shedding their leaves.Comment

I'm sure it's on purpose. Or at the very least they didn't correct it on purpose. It's aimed at a specific demo.Comment
