I didn't think anything of that.

I wasn't really complaining about the mispronunciation (and of other words) and I'm absolutely not condemning her for it, that was more of an observation. The complaint I had was that it's the same commercial that always repeats and there isn't a way to skip it. I'd say the same thing if it was a Grainger commercial on repeat. This one does seem to stand out more though.

So, I've been at this job for over 5 years now. They keep piling on responsibilities, and honestly, I'm okay with that. Most of the new stuff they have me doing I like and I feel like I'm paid decently...but

Vacation time. Right now I get two weeks of paid vacation a year. Only problem, I can't exactly take them when I want. There are 9 employees at the same position I am. The HR manager feels we can only have one of those nine off at once. It's really hard to schedule time off because of this. I was able to take off during the first week of March Madness and that has always been fine. My co-workers kind of know I pencil that in every year. I wanted to take off for the week after the release of NBA 2k24 but it's already taken, and that really frustrates me.

I'd start freshening up that resume

Ehhh, if it pays well, oh well.

If that's the ONLY negative thing, then it is a whatever from me.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't already weighed the pros and cons of leaving long before this.

5 years tenure and only 2 weeks of PTO is terrible.

I get another week PTO added if I stay a couple more years. Honestly, I live in an area where there isn't a lot of employment opportunities.

My therapist has already suggested I look for employment elsewhere because I'm Autistic and dealing with people face to face really racks my nerves and tires me out. I'm good with charts and numbers, which is part of the new responsibilities they've given me. Only problem is that it's just added on top of what I was already doing and until I can get moved to some position where I don't have to deal with people as much, my nerves are always gonna be on edge.

                    Internet and WiFi/router issues.

                    Here is the usual process:

                    1. Man, my internet is kinda slow? I'll reboot everything
                    2. [after rebooting] Why is my router blinking?
                    3. [reboot everything again] Why is my router still blinking? Not this again...
                    4. [check internet via direct connect to modem] Issue isn't my internet...so why won't this stupid router work?
                    6. [Reconnect router and wait a long 5 minutes] Ugh, c'mon!!? Where is my internet??
                    7. [reboot everything again] WHY?!?!??!?!? I HATE THESE ROUTERS?!!

                      Step 8, call customer service

Step 9, customer service asks you if you rebooted it yet to fix it.

Unfortunately, they have to ask or they'll lose points on their call, and something that little can make you fail a graded call.

Yep - I know it sucks but even when you tell them every step you've already taken they have to ask you to recreate the same steps.

And not even just for the points or whatever the metric is, they have to be able to rule out user error before moving on to more advanced steps. It's impossible to believe the person who says they are "very tech savy" when after so many times you've been able to determine that no matter what they tell you, that isn't always true.

For the tech savy people, I get the frustration, I've been there but have come to understand that that is a necessary part of the phone call.

People, including myself, joke about "Is it plugged in?" all the time, but they would be amazed at how many times a cord was loose because of an animal that was climbing on TV stands, or someone moving something and not realizing the power cord popped out.

You can say it's just women. Let's be honest lol.

What we need to do is move our currency away from anything less than 20 cent increments, or better yet just remove our coins completely. Inflation has made all of that worthless anyway.
