Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

On my way home, I stopped at a gas station that I typically consider sort of shady. I went into the side that sold liquor and beer and went to the counter to pay. Across the way, I heard a lady talking to her kid and was dropping F bombs like crazy. I know I cuss a lot, but I have enough respect for people in public, especially little kids, to not talk to them or around them that way. The lady literally said "You need to stop that mother****ing ****, right now..".

It's dis respectful, ignorant, and bad parenting. I don't have kids, but I imagine if I ever do, I'll know better than that. It took everything in my power not to say something to her. I knew better. It would have just made the situation worse. I'm really outspoken, especially to ignorant people in public.

I've mentioned it before, but I also hate *******s at gas stations who pump gas and leave their music on wide open. I have been listening to a game and left the radio on, but only loud enough so I could hear it. It's even worse when it's a song filled with cuss words and there are kids nearby.

Why leave the car on at all at a gas pump?

You could just leave the key turned over in the ignition and the car wouldn't have to be running.

I know I'm right there, but I'm weird about leaving my keys in the car when I'm outside of it. My luck I would lock myself out or some junkie would jack me.

I'm not really paranoid, when I'm at a gas station. I usually stop at the same few gas stations, but if I'm forced to get out somewhere I'm not comfortable with, the .40 comes out with me... not even joking.

When we used to stop on the way in from racing, my dad used to tell me the pistol is under his driver's seat if I need it, while he went in to get a drink or something.

I guess that's something I picked up from him. I'm not just going to go blasting at people, but I wouldn't hesitate to put a few holes through my car door, to keep from being carjacked.

It could happen anywhere, but I don't even bother when I'm close to home. If I'm around Birmingham, that's when my perspective changes. I don't trust ANYONE over there.. too many shady looking people.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Having kids at a young age happens. Now getting married at 21 is a whole other story.

21? What is wrong with that? Some people aren't ready even when they're 40.

My parents were married and had two kids at the age of 20 and they wouldn't have it any other way. They are in their 40s and have two adult kids and a few grand kids... and they love it.

I say that, because most people at 21 haven't even figured out how to care for themselves properly. Obviously there is always exceptions, but those are the minority.

I'm not talking unexpected either. I'm talking about planned children.

Marriage at 21 is ridiculous in itself IMO. Especially today. Decades ago might have been different. People have no concept of what love is anymore.
