Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Public transportation sucks. Full of garbage, literally and people-wise, always some stupid incident happening, smells like piss and whatever-the-hell the people around you smell like on that given day. Drivers are crazy and sometimes not on time. You have to Purell the **** out of your hands and arms and everything each time you get on and off. Nastiness.
I just don't get why people feel like they have to be so rowdy and trashy just because they're on public transportation. Almost as if it gives them an excuse to act unruly. Fuggetabout it. I'll put up with traffic if I have to, as bad as it is here in LA.
I'm going to be in Chicago for a few days over next weekend. My plan for getting around is a 4-day CTA pass, so I might have a couple stories when I get back.Comment

Chicago transit was whatever. I'm sure if I lived there I'd feel differently.Comment

Yeah, it's been fine where I've taken it so far. Haven't ventured south of downtown on the red or green line though. I'm sure that's where the real fun is.Comment

I took the train, bus, subway(red, blue, brown lines) in Chicago daily when I went to college there for a year.
The Only negative was the urine soaked bums asking for money on the subwayComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Being stepped on. In general it would bother me too lol, but this is sports specific. It happened to me once or twice when I was playing ball in high school a couple years ago and it pissed me off then but yesterday it happened again and I was furious.
For those who I haven't told which is just about everyone in this fourm I'd assume, I play Quidditch for EMU (for those who don't know how this amazing game was adapted to the real world, go to this link to read more about it on their official website
And to this link to watch a game being played.)
Anyways. We were playing at Bowling Green yesterday in a tournament and we went 2-0 in our first two games, beating Ashland and tOSU (we also eventually beat Purdue to finish in 3rd but that's irrelevant to my story.) We matched up against Michigan for top seed in our bracket. As soon as I went into the game, I grabbed the ball and started running downfield and the U of M player hits me, he was a big dude so I got knocked on my ***, and then after the ball was in their possession I was trying to stand up and the guy who tackled me looked at me, smirked, and then I got stepped on. I lost my cleat, but damnit I kept on playing and worried about the cleat when I got off the field lol.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
My point was less about the game and more about getting stomped on but if we want to turn this into a flame war on me, go for it lol. I'm definitely used to my friends dogging me for playing all the time, didn't expect anything different here. Regardless of the sport being played, someone stomping on you is disrespectful and I don't think anyone would like it. Especially when said person was wearing cleats.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

I'm not ashamed of it so why hide it? Its a fun game and its incredibly physical, which is why the former football player in me loves it (I'm 5'10'' 130lbs, which makes it hard for me to play collegiately...even at EMU where we suck bad.)Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:
