Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Length requirements on papers...
Paper is supposed to be 10, I have 8 written. I feel like I've gotten my point across pretty damn clearly.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
... when people don't take sound advice!
I'm in the Army and where I'm currently stationed at is a 'desk job' - nothing that my medic training really prepared me for. During my short time here I realized that being a politician really gets things promptly, no matter if its pure BS. I'm only an E5 but I have ranks all the way up to E8 that have to report numbers to me. Now I've built relationships with these individuals by covering for them with a suspense or helping them complete something so now when I ask them something I get it with not much hesitation or griping.
I have a soldier under me and he has been in about the same amount of time as I have. One of our supervisors, a LTC, is throwing a promotion party on a Saturday. I explain to this soldier that even if he doesn't want to go, show face and leave. Showing support will put that individual 'in your corner' - you know, you support me and I'll support you type of thing. What does he say? He starts b****ing about it being on a Saturday. He just wants to do his job and go home - yes, that keeps a paycheck rolling in but it won't help you get a bigger paycheck to roll in. I'm not asking for him to completely roll over and walk with no spine (because I don't and it doesn't matter the rank) but some political work has to be made if you want to move up in the world.
He just doesn't get it. So instead of cuddling his emotions I have tuned him out and began my venting process on here lol.#WashedGamerComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
90% of junior enlisted in the military are just pissed because they fail to realize everything is a political game.
Speaking as one who was denied E-4 in the Marine infantry (which if anyone has experience with, is an absolute pain to get) for the last year of his contract due to an injury despite having way above the needed score for it.
Props to you for doing your thing. I was the same way when I got shifted after my injury. I was given full days off sometimes just because I would let all the others under me go first and stay a bit after work to make sure everything was taken care of. Didn't ask for them, just had an excellent SNCO whom within a month or two of being under him it was just your basic, everyday friendly work position. That was the only thing about a desk job in the military that I appreciated.badComment

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?
Losing my fantasy football championship game and $80 because Andy Dalton took 4 kneeldowns on Thursday.
Or because the Giants didn't kick an extra point.
Or because the Jags didn't gain 1 more yard.
Or because of any of the number of garbage yards for my opponents' players in bad matchups.
Or because I made awful starts because I didn't know if Dez Bryant would play.
Lost by a single point. Tie breaker was mine.

I started 5-1... Ended 5-8. Lost by a point this week too, to determine final standings I guess... Except I put up 58. Yes, I was "trying." I blame Eli...
Now I'm playing for 9th/10th place. I was in 2nd at 5-1. Wow... HahaNHL - Philadelphia Flyers

MLB - Cincinnati Reds

It's an interesting concept, because it helps to make sure the money and the club is clean.. most people would otherwise pass up the sink and not wash their hands.Comment
