People who complain about MTV not being 100% dedicated to music. People didnt watch when this was all they did.

There are better and easier ways of sharing and broadcasting music/music videos today than how MTV was doing it. Just saying.

I hear you on that. However, MTV did used to have a variety of shows.. Its seems like there are 3-4 shows that air over and over again with Jersey Shore being one of the worst shows ever on TV.

For all the **** MTV takes for not being about music, they have filled their programs with music plugs from all types of music from obscure to mainstream. And hell they have channels dedicated to streaming ONLY music videos. There is a reason those channels are on bigger cable packages rather than basic.

To play devils advocate, did we complain when Beavis and Butthead were on the air? How about Daria Celebrity Deathwatch or more recently Jackass, Viva la Ban, or Wildboys? people said the same thing about those shows. Its a new generation of shows and eventually it will be something else.

obviously the majority of the people want to watch it and not being part of the majority grinds my gears.

Although I don't like the shows that are on there.. I know it's as easy to ignore by not going to that channel.

VH1 is the same way. BET is the same way.

They all show garbage, but you're not forced to watch it.

Gone are the good old days of calling in for $1.99 and requesting a video.. I forgot the name of that channel.. Music Box?

I don't give MTV the first glance in the TV guide any more... same with Fuse.

Fuse used to have some good shows dedicated to metal and some heavier genres/sub genres.. now it's all the same garbage.

edit: That may not be a very fair statement. I don't even turn on the satellite unless It's to watch a specific show or sporting event.

I watch RAW, White Collar, Archer, Sons of Anarchy, and then some sports..

I catch everything else on Hulu and Netflix and spend the rest of my entertainment time playing games. I get much more enjoyment out of getting in a squad with some OSers and doing some work on Battlefield than I do watching TV.

If I watch TV late at night I'll just fall asleep.

I actually like Gunsmoke. My step dad watches nothing but Westerns (He's in his early 50s). I've sat and watched a few old ones with him in the past, but I don't remember the names of anything.

I remember when Hallmark channel and TVLand first came out, that is all they showed was Gunsmoke, Rifleman, Bonaza, Lone Ranger, The Honeymooners and some other black & white show all day long everyday.
