Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

These days im lucky if i buy a game in a retail store once a year. I just find it simpler to get it on amazon or steam if thats a option. That said i did buy The Show in a Walmart this year...

As far as Gamestop goes i cant really stand there stores either, the few that are around here are small and they have hardly any space so its about impossible to move in there let alone look around. Plus the heat always seems to be cranked to 100 degrees. And yea, as others have said they talk too damn much and try to sell me there mother and then some when all i wanna do is check out and leave.

I dont trust them to sell me a brand new disk half the time either... Many occasions i'v seen them putting games in cases when you buy them and how am i supposed to know if its new or used when the wraps already off of it.

Is there even a such thing as a big Game Stop ? All the ones I seen went from very tiny to small. Even their stand alone stores I seen were small.

Apart from GS used games being over priced I've never had a problem with their customer service. They'll ask if I want to pre-order anything or if I have a card, but that doesn't even take 30 seconds.

        Anyway...

        Ironing.

        It is the absolute worst.

Why would they take the plastic off of the new games?

I believe employees are allowed to, in essence, rent their games and then when they bring them back GS still sells them as "new".

Yeah I've gotten new games from there that they had to put that sticker on.

They also take games out for display cases on the racks.

I used to live near one in the bay area that had a big stage and 4 huge tvs with systems hooked up. They'd hold game tournaments like once a month with free entry and you could win $/games/credit if you placed well in the tourney.

Playing ball in rec (with mostly people I know) and after a missed shot, people say, "you not hitting today?" or something to that affect. Or when I do miss a shot, they're like "whoaaaaa, why you missing?".

                      The following comment:

"The *Insert NFL Team Here* are set to make *Insert Player Name Here* the highest paid player in NFL History."

I'm just so tired of seeing this sentence in sports articles every year that are centered around NFL free agency.

It's because there's not much else going on. The sports reporting industry doesn't care that much about regular season NHL or NBA, and MLB is in Spring Training, which is pretty boring to report usually.

Once we get past the NFL draft it'll finally calm down.

I'm sure some of you cats have worked retail before. I didn't go by the book at all even at a supervisor for Home Depot, but I've been preached at about the "right questions to ask" and ****. Some people buy in and want to do right by their manager, especially when they are standing close by in these small stores.

If you're that much of an introvert, buy your **** online and stay away from retail stores.

This. Worst case scenario is that their questions add, what, 45 seconds to your checkout time? If your goal is to get in and out quickly, I don't know any retail stores to buy games better than Gamestop. Always quicker than going to a big store that sells more than games.

Because I don't need to be badgered.

It doesn't really matter why, if the customer doesn't like it, don't ****ing do it. It's like Radio Shack used to be, how stores like HH Gregg are now, I loathed going in Radio Shack because the employees would be on you every 2 minutes asking if you needed anything. No I don't need anything, can I not just browse? If not for being one of the few local places that sells electronics components, I would have never gone into the place twice.

If I go into a store, maybe, maybe, greet me, but then just let me browse. When I decide and bring it to the register, ask if I found everything I needed, scan my stuff, take my payment, then tell me to have a nice day. That should be the limit of our interaction. I'm not a money pinata that's going to make it rain if you hit me with enough words.

Now, to why I came in here: my USPS letter carrier. So he tried to deliver a certified letter last Thursday and I wasn't here, he left a little card in my mailbox. So I look at the card it says to sign and it will be redelivered, that goes in my mailbox Monday, the card gets unclipped from my box and put back in my mailbox. Tuesday I make sure I am at home, and I reclipped the card to the box. Mail gets delivered, no certified letter. WTF? So I look at the card, there is a checkbox for redeliver and a space to specify the day so I check the box and say Thursday. Wednesday the card is unclipped again and in the box with my mail. While looking at the card again I see the online stuff so I decide to do that to make sure it's delivered today. Mailman comes agaion and guess what? No certified letter. I'm pissed. If there was something wrong with the card, knock on my damn door, it's not like my front door wasn't open all week. When I sign up online, it should be redelivered. Hell, I don't think it's weird for me to expect that it should be redelivered the next day after the original attempt, it's just a letter and you are going to be here anyway. And they wonder why people don't want to use the USPS anymore.
