My wife has the opposite problem. She OVER discusses it. After 10 minutes I simply tune her out.

This drives me nuts. At the store the other day I was looking for a new ipod USB cord and a worker helped me find it, but she kept talking and I just wanted to go check out. I literally said "alright, thanks" three different times before I could finally walk away. I even turned and took a step in the other direction twice and she'd start talking again

And then I don't do anything but still don't get deleted.

Really just any type of attention whoring on facebook is annoying. And in real life.

I actually like that. A heads up is nice so you're not left wondering what happened or if it's a glitch in the system. I've had friends defriended and unfollowed for me on FB and Twitter before.

Gamestop is the worst. I absolute hate going in there. Everytime you check out they ask you of you want to pre order pretty much every game possible for ore order and read off all these deals and ask if you are interested. And no matter how many times you say "no this will be all" they still keep asking away.

A couple months ago I went in there and bought something and I was already in a bad mood and in a rush. So I went to the counter with the game I was buying and said "I'll take this and no I am not interested in pre ordering anything so don't even bother asking me 100 questions like you guys usually do" the dude just looked at me and said "uhh okay" and rang me up. That was the only trip I've had to that store that took under 5 minutes at the register

I've never had any of the issues that everyone hates GameStop for.

At most, they ask me if I want to preorder something only if a big release is coming up.

Normally I'll go in, pick out what I want, BS with the clerk for a couple minutes if I'm in the mood and leave.

I've been to a lot of GS (multiples in WI, a couple in DMV area and a smattering throughout Southern/Central California).

Personally, GS has a good reputation with me - but to each their own. Every store is different.

There is a guy at the Gamestop near my house who does this every single time. I bought the new Walking Dead game last week, and he starts asking me if I like zombie games and that I should pre-order the new Dead Island. I said "No thanks, I never played the first one." Then he proceeded to fire off a bunch more releases of games that I would never play and never buy.

Funny thing is, someone checked out before me and I heard him spew the same crap to that guy. What, am I magically deaf when I'm behind someone in line that I will only hear it when you say it directly to me? Haha.

Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

I like buying my games from Gamestop or Amazon.

I've never really had a bad experience with GameStop and most of the same people have been working at the local store for years, especially the manager.

I've known that guy since they had two stores in town. He was the manager over the one in the mall. They recognize me usually and don't ask me any stupid questions. I just get my **** and talk for a second and get out of there and I don't blame them for mentioning new titles coming out.

They aren't there to cater to hardcore gamers. They are usually genuinely trying to help and they are just doing what they are told to do by their manager, who is being told what to do by someone else. That's retail for you.

So put me in the boat of people who have never had bad experiences with GS and I've also shopped around at a few in Birmingham and Georgia when doing some things for work.

That might be the difference. You're willing to do that on occasion.

I, in all circumstances no matter how good my mood, want to walk in and if I can leave after buying a game having said only about 2 words the whole time, that's ideal.

Is it so bad just to say, "No thanks, I'm not interested" and if they keep on just ignore it ? People try to small talk with me all the time and I just blow past it, especially guys walking the lot at the dealership.

I'm sure some of you cats have worked retail before. I didn't go by the book at all even at a supervisor for Home Depot, but I've been preached at about the "right questions to ask" and ****. Some people buy in and want to do right by their manager, especially when they are standing close by in these small stores.

If you're that much of an introvert, buy your **** online and stay away from retail stores.

I just say nah man and keep rolling. Ive never had a real problem with GS. Other than asking for a new game and they proceed to hand me an open box and grab the disk from some mystical "brand new" drawer. Its not new if you opened the box. I dont buy new games from them that havent come out that same month just because of that.

But nothing wrong with a little banter. I imagine their job can be boring as **** sometimes so I like to kid around every once in a while. I guess a miserable costumer would have their gears grinded by such interaction lol.

The only problem I have with GameStop is the ****ty trade-in value. Bought UFC Undisputed 3 release day, traded it in about 3 days later and got maybe 26 bucks.
