Re: You know what really grinds my gears?

I worked in retail for a little, one of the worst working experiences ever... my stance is **** customers, **** every last one of them.

I worked in a the Shoe area of a big Dept. Store and I must say 90% of the people are sloppy, ungracious, demanding Pigs... pigs. Maybe I just worked in the wrong store, in a bad area.

Go through every box on the shelf, throw the lids on the ground, shoeboxes left on the ground, paper and plastic shoe holders on the ground even with a garbage can literally 5 feet away. They mess up all the Display shoes, Kids displays would be over in Women's sneakers, Mens displays would end up in the Women's section.

Don't even know how many pairs of Shoes were constantly matched up wrong, countless times a size 8 and size 9 would be put in the same box, and I would spend hours going through and researching every box until they were finally matched up. (How ****ing hard is it to put the right pair of shoes back in the right box?!!!) Then only to come back to that section an hour later and it's all messed up again.

To this day I still wonder how some people have no clue how to put shoes back in the box properly, just lay them on their side, facing opposite directions so you can close the lid over the box. I've seen every possible variation of placing them incorrectly like putting the shoes upright, upside down...

Women were the worst, they would take like 10 different pairs of shoes out at a time, try them all on... look at them and go "Eh not for me" and walk away with all 10 boxes on the bench, floor, if you were lucky they put them back in the boxes. I had one guy come to me one day with a sales ad looking for a particular shoe, I found that exact shoe for him, and he gets mad "That's not the Shoe in the ad, the shoe in the ad is actually a good shoe." Well wtf do you want me to do, magically make a pair appear in my hand.

Glad I got out of that job, my current job isn't that much less stressful, but yeah retail is rough when you actually care about your job.. that was my mistake. Most of my co-workers at that place were just clock punchers, they didn't really know anything about the department, and didn't even check the Shoes for matching sizes before putting them back on the Shelf.

It's not much of a gear grinder, but I never will understand how some people just simply don't like music.

Music is a mood altering thing for me some days. If I wake up feeling bad I'll just put on some good music while getting ready for work and when I leave the house I'll feel much better.

My brother-in-law doesn't listen to music. Told me it doesn't appeal to him. He listens to NPR instead. Blah...

Direct TV is getting on my nerves, we switched to Comcast last year and they wont stop calling to try and get me back even after i'v told them several times that im under contract for 2 years... They are really snobby about it and even though i told them to stop calling they keep doing it.

I'v just started letting it go to the answering machine every time they call, thank god for caller ID.

I don't. Only time I ever turn on the radio is when I am in the car and it is more for back ground noise then anything else.

Pretty sure this is every store anywhere. It's not their house so no one gives a **** if they make a mess or don't put things back in their proper place.

That's why I just laugh when they try to get us to "zone" our areas (bring all the products to the front of the shelves and make it all neat and clean) at Wal-Mart because really, what's the ****ing point? It's all going to go to hell within an hour.

People who refer to score of a baseball game in the standard of "points",
as in "The Dodgers scored 2 points in the last inning to win."

                Ughh!

If the Twins would have gotten what they should have for him, it could have gone down as the most genius trades in history. Instead, they got too greedy and had to panic-accept the Mets package. They sure did trade him at the right time though.

The Gear Grinder cogs from ToonTown really grinded my gears back in the day.
