I usually give a dollar when asked at various places for various charities and have done some things in the past I won't mention because its not the purpose of helping others, but I simply cannot stand people in huge intersections going vehicle to vehicle taking donations for random things.

I'm typically a giving person, but I don't feel like dealing with that shot on the middle of traffic. I just turn my music up lol.

If you really don't have cash or change on you, they even question you and say something like, "surely you have some change you can give ?"

Agree with this 100%. I can't stand the car to car beggars. While I know some of them have hit hard times, I've seen enough of these people faking it (seriously, people just beg for a living and make decent, tax free income) to just donate to a shelter.
I don't give any $ to anybody on the street anymore.

I might be a bad person for saying this, but I never give money to the homeless. I know that most will probably buy food, but others will spend that money on alcohol or smokes.

Instead, what I do is anytime I go out to eat, if I have leftovers, I ask to get it wrapped up and then give it to the homeless guy looking for $. I sometimes even ask my friends if they don't finish their foods if I can take it and wrap it up. They normally look at me weird since it's their food. But I'd rather give it to someone in need than letting it go to waste.

I've done that before and had the homeless guy be annoyed because he wanted money for alcohol/smokes.

I refuse to give homeless money directly. I'll donate to a food bank or shelter, but giving them money directly does nothing for them.

They need to seek help in all the appropriate ways and that stands a better chance to get them on their feet.

I would question that guy if he was really homeless. One time I was in the parking lot and I saw some guy, decent clothes, asking around for $$ from people. Farther up the block, my wife and I are at a hamburger joint, when I noticed the same guy is walking inside the restaurant. He asks the cashier if he can exchange some singles for larger bills, which he then exchanges about $60 worth of singles for twenties.

Immediately as he goes outside, he asks these 3 guys walking in for change. REALLY?? Worst of all, we grab our food, and head to the car.. when the same guy approaches us and asks us for money. If my wife wasn't pregnant then, or if I was alone, I would of said something to this guy, but clearly he doesn't care about life and is a pathetic fool, so I just walk away without even looking at him or saying anything.

Some people are just scum trying to suck the life out of this world.

Being sick. I've been sick the past 4 days or so and it's horrible by itself. The worst part of it was calling into work a couple days ago only for my manager to give me a guilt trip. I went yesterday because I needed the hours, got worse throughout the day. Today had to call in again. Being sick sucks.

Another thing that drives me crazy about being sick, everyone wants you to be able to trace your sickness back to the source. "How did you get sick?" Then if you don't have an answer they all turn into detectives trying to tell you just how you got sick. My favorite part though is everyone walking up to me at work yesterday "You really are sick aren't you."

Just wait until you go back to work the day after you called in. "Are you feeling better?" "How are you feeling?" "are you still sick."

Luckily tomorrow it's just me and one other guy working and it's always dead on saturdays. I'll go no matter how I'm feeling since I always have Sunday/Monday off.

It gets worse when no one believes you're actually sick.

That is the sole reason I went in yesterday. Not a fan of where I work, and the manager didn't believe me when I called in wednesday. So I went in looking awful yesterday to shut him up.

This is when you cough and sneeze all over his stuff so he gets sick as well.

This also helps with all the people asking "Are you ok?"

Just sneeze and say, not really, and it's highly contagious, and they wont bug you again.

I'm just waiting for this gear grinder. I haven't had even as much as a cold since March of 2011. Worst I've done is woken up a little congested and a shower takes care of that. I wish I knew what I had changed so that I don't quit doing it.

I honestly can't remember the last time I was actually sick before this. I mean sick to the point I couldn't do anything. It's been 4 days of curling into the fetal position either on my bed or on the couch during the NHL playoffs.

I hadn't missed a day of work until this which is why my manager's reaction was even worse.
